2. Establishing a
Corporate Presence
A corporation can develop a strong presence on Facebook
in multiple ways. If you are an executive within a
corporation, you might question why any company would
want a presence on a social network that seems so
personal in nature. If you don’t want to fish in a pond that is
packed with approximately 800,000 new fish every single
day, then have fun somewhere else. I, of course, say that
with some sarcasm. I do understand that some companies
resist using Facebook for business purposes.

4. Developing a Corporate
Facebook Presence
• One of the easiest ways for companies to begin developing a corporate
presence is to ensure that your employees use the same name for the
company in their profiles. When a company is first created by a user, it is
saved into Facebook’s database so that when other employees join they
can find and use a standardized company name. This helps to link
employees together and allow users to search for you based on a company
search!
• With Facebook continuing to grow more and more in popularity, it makes
sense to develop a corporate presence. At the very least, establishing even
a basic presence on Facebook can make it more difficult for others to claim
your brand on Facebook. If you need even more convincing, realize that
Facebook is now the top driver of traffic, over Google, to large sites.
5. Facebook Pages

• Because the Notes feature in Facebook is limited in settings and features that you
can control, you might also want to consider pulling in your RSS feed through one of
the many RSS applications that are available.
• Adjust your email signature to include your Facebook Page. This is among the
simplest tweaks you can make and will reach a lot of people, especially if you’re
someone that sends a lot of emails.
• Similar to your email marketing, you should show off the various social networks that
you’re active in, including your Facebook Page. You can do this by creating a
separate tab and/or a sidebar widget on all the pages of your website where visitors
can link out to.
• You can run targeted Facebook ads that appear in the right sidebar area or news
feed of users’ Facebook accounts with a message to encourage them to fan your
Page!
