11. What you need to do...
As a class you will create a colourful and
detailed map of a Roman City.
You will plan the city together.
You will form small groups to oversee each
aspect of the city.
12. 1) Create a group of students and
choose an aspect of the city to
govern.
2) In your groups, elect a Senator to
lead your group
13. 3) In your group, research your
facility. Think about...
● How many of it does the city need?
● Where should they be placed for strategic
access?
● Does it need to be near to another building?
● How big should it be, for how many people?
● Will it be inside or outside the forum?
● What shape is the building?
14. 4) Write down your group decisions
about your plans. Give them to your
Senator to present to the Emperor.
15. 5) The Senators from each group
have a meeting with the Emperor:
● For the Senators to present their requests and
ideas for the city planning
● To compromise and organise the city plans
● To draw a rough draft of the city in pencil, with
the Emperor leading.
● To decide on a name for the Roman City
16. 6) Once the rough draft is complete,
every group member can begin to
sketch, draw, paint, and create their
facility on the city plan
