Motivating
Teens
When teaching teens, an educator's most important job is to be
firm but fair. Because teenagers have physically developed to
adulthood or near-adulthood, many of them believe themselves
to be fully matured. However, they typically have not yet
developed the mental discipline to prioritize work over enjoyment.
Teenagers need to have clear boundaries set for them, and they
need reminders as to why they are working. Many educators find
that setting short-term goals helps to keep students on track.
Regular encouragement also helps to keep teens involved and
reminds them that the teacher cares about their progress.

the teacher, this means being sensitive to the class' energy levels
and adjusting the teaching approach to be sensitive to students'
needs.Teachers should also take the time to ask students what
their goals and interests are and develop motivational tools
accordingly.
