2. TELEVISION “THE MAGIC BOX” In fact the time that I spend in front of the famous magic box "TV" is not much. I could say no more than 3 hours per day. I know I should pay special attention to the news and to programs of public interest, but sometimes I don’t. Throughout the years I have had the same attitude with newspapers, since I rarely read a newspaper.
3. TELEVISION “THE MAGIC BOX” In my opinion, most TV programs are not good, specially those in prime time. Programs in prime time should talk about news and current affairs, since those are the topics that most people is interested in. But the programs are managed by a director of programs who is only interested in increasing the share of the channel he represents. So when we talk about the quality of the programs today , it is all very subjective, because for me the programs can be bad but for other people they can be really good. The future of television is to be an important part of our lives. Of course, we will increasingly see new means of dissemination of television content and that, in fact, is very interesting and enriching for everybody. Television is a vehicle of communication that teaches us, enriches our culture at the same time that entertains us. We can learn new things through both national and international news and through some soap operas that address issues that often affect young people, such as AIDS, the use of condoms, smoking, drugs, teenage pregnancy, etc.
4. TELEVISION “THE MAGIC BOX” Today, the role of television is to make the viewer a consumer, because it tries to influence the viewers to buy certain products. There should be some caution concerning advertising on TV because we need a television that informs us rather than to persuade us to buy.About being consciously or unconsciously influenced by television that is the responsibility of each one of us. TV does not decide the behavior of the viewer. Lack of education and ignorance can lead people to be more influenced bu TV. 6. The photo illustrating this post is a rarity. It is the car from outside the German television, the first vehicle in the world with which it was held the famous closed circuit transmission of the Berlin Olympics in 1936 “Television (TV) is a widely used telecommunicationmedium for transmitting and receiving moving images, either monochromatic ("black and white") or color, usually accompanied by sound. "Television" may also refer specifically to a television set, television programming or television transmission. The word is derived from mixed Latin and Greek roots, meaning "far sight": Greek tele (τῆλε), far, and Latin visio, sight (from video, vis- to see, or to view in the first person). Commercially available since the late 1930s, the television set has become a common communications receiver in homes, businesses and institutions, particularly as a source of entertainment and news. Since the 1970s the availability of video cassettes, laserdiscs, DVDs and now Blu-ray discs, have resulted in the television set frequently being used for viewing recorded as well as broadcast material.” Inventor John Logie Baird Launch year 1928
7. Although other forms such as closed-circuit television are in use, the most common usage of the medium is for broadcast television, which was modeled on the existing radio broadcasting systems developed in the 1920s, and uses high-powered radio-frequency transmitters to broadcast the television signal to individual TV receivers. Broadcast TV is typically disseminated via radio transmissions in the 7-1000 megahertz-range of the FM frequency band[1]. Signals are now often transmitted with stereo and/or surround sound in many countries. Until the 2000s broadcast TV programs were generally recorded and transmitted as an analog signal, but in recent years public and commercial broadcasters have been progressively introducing digital television broadcasting technology.
