40. Disadvantages
The digital collection such as digital images, streaming
video sound file etc. are still to dealt with
Implementation of ERMS system leads to a huge additional
cost since most of the proprietary ERMS are costly.
A group of professionals with their technical
skills/expertise is required for implementing ERMS
Although most of the functions are inimitable in all ERMS
but the paramount issue i.e. basic structural features /
modules are unlike
Integration of electronic resources in ERMS is a
mountainous job which takes longer time
Not a single ERMS provides complete functionality of
workflow of e-resources.
Different sections such as periodicals section, circulation section, reprography section, study area, digital library and teaching lab are located at ground floor and text books, reference books and reading area are located at 1st floor of NKC.
At present 100 users on ground floor and 40 users on first floor can study at a time. The NKC is kept open on every week days except gazetted holidays.
A teaching lab and a digital library makes aware our students / users about collections (print and electronic) for its optimum utilization.
