DEDICATING YOUR CHILD
OUR COMMITMENT
As Christian parents, we take seriously our responsibility to raise any
children God entrusts to us in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
It is our desire to publicly declare that commitment, as a testimony of our
complete dependence on the Wisdom found in God's Word, and the
guidance of the Holy Spirit, for success in our role as the parents and
spiritual guardians of our children.
We also pray that our public commitment to godly parenting will remind other
parents of their great privilege and responsibility before God. We understand
that no supernatural grace or benefit is imparted to our child through this
dedication service, but rather we are pledging ourselves, as Christian parents,
to exert every possible godly influence on this child; to demonstrate to him/her,
by our godly example, the power and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; to
endeavor to lead him/her to a saving faith in the Savior; and to faithfully teach
our child the precious truths contained in the Word of God.
We request the blessing and support of our Church Family to help us to
“train up our child in the way he should go.” (Prov.22:6)
