Why I Want To Be A Njhs Essay
The National Junior Honor Society is one of the first stepping stones to becoming a remarkable
leader and citizen in my community. I have had many opportunities throughout my life to
participate in my community, be it through my church, swim team , or other groups. But I truly
believe that I am not a perfect citizen. I have many lengths to strive for to become the person I
would like to be. NJHS will help me on my path to becoming a leader by giving me opportunities
to work with people who see the world the way I do. Who see the world as full of opportunity,
most of it untapped. Full of people that struggle for food, or are being crushed with work. I would
like to change this , and NJHS will help me achieve my vision. Luckily, the NJHS is full of hard
working and smart people that I feel like being around would help me improve myself, but more
importantly, to improve others. NJHS will give more opportunities to help serve my...show more

All this and more will help me reach my goal of one day being able to relate to a wide variety
people, being able to work with and guide anyone, and everyone, through relationships developed
between a leader and his followers. I wish to be that leader that makes a change in the world to
help relieve the pressure that people around the world feel every day, the pressure to work with
people that they hate, that they despise, by eliminating that distaste. Unfortunately, certain people
will always dislike others, but people can change. I will be the one to help make that change in
people. This journey will all start with NJHS. by first working to bring together this small group of
people, to work to improve the community with them and to lead them. Not many other programs
can say that they can really achieve this. But NJHS can. We, as people working united to better our
community, and ourselves, can achieve this. I simply ask, that you give me the

NJHS: My Reasons For Student Success
Please consider me for NJHS for the following reasons. The first reason is that I have a lot of
academic success. I have received many awards for being an A average student. I have received
these many awards 4th–6th grade and hopefully 7th. Not only am I an A average student, I have
also been recognized in the Gifted and Talented program since 4th grade. I am gifted and talented
in both math and dance. While I am having all this academic success, I am also maintaining all A's
all year so far. Why I am very surprised by this is because I am dancing 15 hours a week. When I
am not dancing I am probably doing homework. Another reason is that I have participated and led
in many things. For example, I am an officer on the dance team at Gray Middle School. I have led
this team to getting first place at nationals and 9th place at finals. Speaking of dance, I wanted to
tell you that in 6th grade I was a leader of my other dance team, Planet Dance Cincinnati.Because
of this, we got 1st place at our first competition of the season! Last but not least, I am a leader of
the student foundation, Holly Jolly Hygiene bags. In our first year, we have already made 25 bags
filled with hygiene supplies for the homeless of Cincinnati. I try to be a decent role model and
leader for these people....show more content...
I am very exemplary with my action. For example, I have a good behavior at school and dance. I
am also very responsible. I take care of things like school work and make sure they are done
correctly. Lastly I show citeezenship by helping my community. These things make me the person I

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my letter informing me that I was eligible to be part of
the NJHS. Once I looked it over and saw that there was an essay part of the application, I thought
it would be difficult to "brag" about myself considering I'm just a normal twelve year old who likes
to sing, swim, and ride horses. While I was thinking about what I do to be an active part of the
student body of Schindewolf Intermediate, it became a little less difficult to picture.
I'm involved in many activities at school including orchestra, choir, show choir, and athletics.
These all prove me to be hard working and committed to making myself the best person I can
possibly be. In sixth grade I was involved in Klein Academic Competition for the writing portion,
and this year I will be taking the Duke University ACT test for all subjects. Outside of school, I am
also active in my community. I am involved in many activities. For my church; Spring Baptist Klein
Campus; I have been involved as a volunteer at VacationBible School for 2 years. I have volunteered
for crafts both years because I like to be around children of...show more content...
I have many different qualities that attribute to my character. Some including, I am a naturally
positive person, I am non–judgmental, and I try my best to be focused and efficient. I also like to
make people laugh, but I know when to be serious. Part of being a good leader is knowing how to
work as a team. Many of the activities I participate in have shown me how to do so. I believe in
working as a team to come up with solutions, plans, and ideas.
I have a passion to change people's lives. Therefore I am deeply honored to have been chosen out
of a few hundred to have the opportunity to be part of the National Junior Honor Society. This
experience would teach me much more about being a leader. I feel I would be an important asset to
your team, and I hope you will consider having

National Junior Honor Society Essay
I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I
certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I
have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and
have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and
standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn't the worst. I try to help
out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time
to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother.
As previously stated, I have no major discipline problems. At home, I am, I believe a good kid. I
help my mom take care of my little sisters, I cook and I support my sisters on their homework. The
only incident that I have in school is a, "disturbance" I was causing, but not everyone is...show more

I have always had Final Grades being above a B! In fifth grade, I was apart of a handful in having
straight A+'s in my whole school! In sixth grade, I was apart of a test to participate in accelerated
classes! Today, I am in Algebra I and in seventh grade; the lowest grade I had in this class was a
B+, even above some eighth graders. During sixth and fifth grade, I got involved in Math club at
Franklin Woods Intermediate, I competed against other kids in other schools, doing eighth and even
high school math! I have participated in accelerated Language Arts and Math since fifth grade; I
have continued to grow since then! I pride myself in being in advanced classes, many people ask
how I got to be really "smart," I say, " I listen, speak at a low amount and come to school; I pay
attention and ask questions." Overall, I think that the choices I made, got me here; I really like a

The National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is an important and prestigious organization that is dedicated to
helping students achieve their goals, helping people, and serving the community. Being part of the
NJHS is a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my determination and desire to helping people
around me. I believe, that I can become a worthy member of the National Junior Honor Society
because I am committed, productive, friendly, and most importantly reliable. I meet all the qualities
require by this organization, such as academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. My
academic achievements are proof of my hard work, dedication and exemplary character. By having

Reasons For Njhs
It is a honor to be invited to join the National Junior Honors Society. I believe I have the qualities
to be excepted. I am a leader, have good character, participate in my community through service,
and a good citizen. Therefore, I should be accepted into the NJHS. To begin, I exhibit qualities of
a great leader. Firstly, at my Saturday morning bowling league, I am positioned as the anchor,
which means I am expected to lead my team to victory.. Secondly, I lead by being a good example
to my peers, and I am a positive role model. Lastly, when my friends have problems they come to
me and I lead them to a positive solution. This is being a good leader. Next, I show good character
in many ways. One way is that is that I am honest. For example, when anyone asks me a question I
always answer with the truth. Also, I like to be open to all people, and I also have a loving
personality. Good character is an important necessity for NJHS....show more content...
I serve at my church by helping the kids learn more about their religion and I occasionally help at
the food bank. Also, every Wednesday I help babysit my baby cousin Olivia. But, the main reason
I give service is to learn more about life and people. I also give service because it brings joy to my
heart. In addition citizenship is important. To show good citizenship, I respect authority, follow
rules, and stick up for people. I practice good citizenship everyday. This is what it takes to be a
good citizen. In conclusion, It is important to have leadership, good character, give service, and be
an upstanding citizen. It would be an honor to be inducted into NJHS. Therefore, I have the qualities

I'm truly honored to have to have been chosen as a possible inductee, for the National Junior Honor
Society, I would love to become a member of the NJHS to develop and expand my leadership skills,
in addition I would like to improve my citizenship strength, this opportunity will also allow me to
surround myself with other genuine students, my education is very important to me and being with
other serious students will help me learn from their capabilities. Moreover, I would like to
contribute to NJHS by volunteering and making my community proud. Furthermore, the main cause

National Honors Junior Society
The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to
acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society,
students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence
in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this
prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through
service to the school and the surrounding community. I should be a part of this society because I
believe I posses great leadership, scholarship, character, citizenship, and service qualities. One
aspect of membership in this society is leadership and service. I believe I have leadership qualities
because I have captained many sports teams inside of school and outside of school. Being a captain

First, I believe I have great scholarship attributes because I have been able to maintain a grade
point average of 3.5 or higher this whole year, while being in all honor classes and being in a 10th
grade math class. During the first trimester, I was able to have straight A's and only one A– while
the rest were A and one A+. I have good character because I respect all my peers and teachers. I
also have not received a detention this year and very few white slips for arriving late to school.
Lastly, I am very responsible and try to get all my work done days before it's due which is
illustrated by not having a late or missing assignment. Finishing this assignment five days before
the due date proves my commitment to my work. The final characteristic is citizenship. I believe I
am a good citizen because I have had very few, if not any minor school infractions this year and no

I would be a great candidate for an officer of NJHS because I know how to stay organized and on
task, I can communicate my ideas to others effectively, and I have great leadership skills. For
example, in 6th grade, my friends and I volunteered during an 8th grade lunch hour to sell
lemonade for a charity called Alex's Lemonade Stand, which is a foundation for childhood cancer.
Even though the 8th graders were extremely loud and distracting, and often tried to get lemonade
for free, my friends and I stayed on task. As a result, we sold so much lemonade that we ended up
having to refill the 5–gallon tank of lemonade before the lunch hour was over. Had we not been

In order to collect funds to adopt a panda for the school, we set up recycling bins throughout the
school for students to put their water bottles in. In turn, every week one person from the group
would pick up the water bottles and bring them to a grocery store, recycle them, and collect money
from it. We also made many presentations to people of authority, such as the Principals and the
Parent–Teacher Association. After the school year had ended, we had raised over $500 and
adopted a giant panda cub for the school. We also had seen the effect of ourleadership and
cooperativity show up in younger students, who, many of them, were eager to help other causes.
Finally, over the recent summer, I was the first violinist in a string quartet in a youth symphony
workshop I attended. As first violinist, I was in charge of leading the group during rehearsals and
in the final performance we had at the end of the week. During rehearsals, I worked with the rest of
the group to master an entire quartet piece in one week, which involved keeping the group together
and with the tempo throughout the song, making sure all cues were on time, and that we all knew
which areas of the song to practice each day to ensure that the piece would be perfected by our final

Five Pillars Of Njhs
I, Patrick Moore, want to join NJHS, and I exemplify the five pillars of NJHS necessary to do so.
The five pillars of NJHS are scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. I show these
qualities through my everyday life, by going to school, doing community service, and by
participating in extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. These five qualities are more than
just things in NJHS to me because I take these qualities and try to incorporate them into my life. I do
this because they are important and meaningful to me.
I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school. I take school seriously and enjoy it at
the same time. This means that I work my hardest on every assignment, and I always put forth my

I think that citizenship and service are linked in a way. I think that to be a good citizen and
properly fulfill your role, you have to help out in the community. I do my part at school by doing
what teachers ask of me, always being respectful, and by taking the time to do things the right way
such as putting things in the right bins at the end of lunch. I also serve my community by doing
community service hours and by picking up litter. I do community service hours by organizing
food drives, volunteering at a food bank, and by helping out in a community garden. I help out in
this garden by watering it, and I also take the food from it to Friendship Trays.
I desire to be a part of NJHS, and I think that I possess the qualities necessary to be in NJHS. I
exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school and at home. I exemplify the quality of
character by being honest and by being an individual. I exemplify the quality of leadership by
helping out my teammates and classmates. I exemplify the qualities of citizenship and service by
playing my part in the community and by doing community service. NJHS would be a wonderful
thing for me, and I think that I should be in

Paideia refers to an ancient Greek philosophy centered around the upbringing of a child –––more
specifically, the gathering and instilling of ideal characteristics into said child that would in turn
make them into "an ideal member of society". The Greeks saw it fit to not only be well put
together physically but also spiritually and mentally. They had events in place such as wrestling and
gymnastics to build one's physical. They also delved into concepts such as the study of music,
poetry and philosophy which they believed kept one's moral compass pointing in the right direction.
However, these philosophies were only meant to be instilled in the male populous of the society,
leaving the females to be seen as incompetent vessels that were only...show more content...
I have always been a leader, as far as I can remember. Even among those gifted with strong
personalities, I feel as if though I still step out as the leader among them. For example, I recently
participated in a mock debate that showed the top 3 candidates of the 2016 Presidential Election.
Speaking in front of people, whether it be a crowd of 5 or 500, makes fear course through my
veins. However, my group members wanted me to be the spokesperson and I agreed. When the
day came for me to get in front of the crowd of over 200 people, I felt slightly faint but I had a
group that were depending on me. Therefore, I had to push my fears and my worries aside. That
is what I believe a true leader is. A true leader to me is not the person who leads fearlessly but the
person who finds strength from deciding that the needs of those they are leading trump their
fears.Character is defined as "the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual". I am no
saint but I think overall I am a very morally upright person. I can honestly say that I am kind to
everyone even when they are not kind to me. The philosophy that two wrongs do not make a right is
one I stand by whole

Honor Roll Essay
If I were to pick one academic "wake–up" call would during my 10th grade year where I barely
made honor roll. Although I eventually made it though the year, I didn't achieve the goals I had set
for myself. I learned a great skill from that moment on, time management. Managing so many things
at once can be stressful but learning how to balance it all out in a given time is something I won't
forget. Over the years I've grown more mature about my education and have learned to invest more
time towards my future. I feel like I've come very far from when I started high–school, developing
from a shy child to someone who is outgoing and can express themselves in the classroom as well
as outside of school.

Why I Want To Be A National Junior Honor Society
"...ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." This quote by
John F. Kennedy, thirty–fifth president of the United States, shows that the National Junior Honor
Society could do a great deal for me as a person, but I can contribute a great deal to this society as
one of its members. I believe that I would be a substantial member of NJHS. I would enjoy an
opportunity to be a part of this society. Also, I have characteristics that potential National a Junior
Honor Society member would possess. First, I would appreciate an experience to be part of NJHS.
I am interested in being in the National Junior Honor Society because I want to help other people out
through our roles in charity and community service.

NJHS Essay
It is truly an honor to be recognized by National Junior Honor Society. I realize it will take so much
more than fantastic grades to be a part of NJHS. It will require tremendous commitment,
determination, and a significant amount of time. I honestly believe that an NJHS member should
always feel the need to always help others. The volunteer spirit should not only be shown in the
community, but at home, church, and in school.
The five pillars of scholarship are: service, leadership, scholarship, character, and citizenship.
Service is an action of helping or doing work for another person. I have been volunteering at the
Moravian church in Nazareth. Myself and the other volunteers prepare sandwiches and other snacks.

Last year I made it on High Honor Roll all three trimesters. Academic achievement comes easy for
some. For others, like me, it requires hard work, effort, and a tremendous amount of time studying.
Character is defined as one's moral qualities. I have very high expectations for my character, and I
hold myself to them. Every time a person isn't the nicest to me or someone else, I remind myself
not to stoop to their level. I tell myself, "Treat others how you would want to be treated." I will
always treat myself and everyone around me with respect, courtesy, and kindness.
I am a great citizen in many ways. I am active in my community and I offer my assistance when
needed. I am an honest and trustworthy citizen. I follow all of the rule and laws, and take
responsibility for my actions. All in all, NJHS will be a great opportunity and if I am accepted I
will do my best to serve my community, lead my classmates, strive for the highest possible academic
achievement, and model what it truly means to be a Nazareth Blue

"You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over."– Richard
Branson The quote above symbolizes the variety in which people learn, and that applies to their
lives. Learning styles tend to relate to the personalities in which an individual carries. Katherine and
Isabel Briggs, developed a test which determines your personality, or learning style. I am, personally,
an INTJ, which under an easier alias is, "Mastermind." Personality types affect your instinctive

On the soccer or football field, I can envision complex scenarios and think abstractly to tackle
predicaments. Also, seeing the, "Big Picture" I can predict what enemy strategy is, based on their
communication and motion. I am the first one to introduce a unique strategy when the old is
proving ineffective or too predictable. An anecdote to support my claim, occurred during 5th grade,
at a recreational soccer game. My team was losing 5–3, and the opposing team had an incredible
offense, however their defense lacked the same skill. After analyzing the weak links within the
defense, I suggested that once we get the ball to their side side and near the goal, we kick the ball
out of bounds on purpose, in hopes of having a weak defender take the job of throwing the ball back
in. After much arguing and elementary bickering, everyone agreed. My team did this multiple times,
as the throws from the defenders were awkward and done hesitantly. We used the less instinctive to
our advantage and maneuvered their throws to our liking, so that we had a better shot at scoring.
Soon, we scored enough from that strategy to earn us victory. In conclusion, being, "iNtuitive" gave
me insight to see the large problems, and impacted my approach in competitive sports. The third
letter, which represents, "Thinker" also influences my actions during competitive activities.
"Thinker" is the third letter in the, "INTJ" personality

Characteristics Of An NJHS Member
I believe that an NJHS member should be kind, determined, helpful, and should have respect for
others. These are important traits because they reveal the person's personality and character. Henry
James once said, "Three things in human life that are important. The first is to be kind. The second
is to be kind. The third is to be kind." An NJHS member should be kind, because kindness
strengthens people, and it makes them feel virtuous. People who are kind are normally more
compassionate, confident, and comfortable with others and themselves. A kind person is loving and
wants everyone to feel good. Napoleon Bonaparte said,"The truest wisdom is resolute
determination." Determination means to keep going even if something is difficult. An NJHS member

Njhs Essay Examples

  • 1. Why I Want To Be A Njhs Essay The National Junior Honor Society is one of the first stepping stones to becoming a remarkable leader and citizen in my community. I have had many opportunities throughout my life to participate in my community, be it through my church, swim team , or other groups. But I truly believe that I am not a perfect citizen. I have many lengths to strive for to become the person I would like to be. NJHS will help me on my path to becoming a leader by giving me opportunities to work with people who see the world the way I do. Who see the world as full of opportunity, most of it untapped. Full of people that struggle for food, or are being crushed with work. I would like to change this , and NJHS will help me achieve my vision. Luckily, the NJHS is full of hard working and smart people that I feel like being around would help me improve myself, but more importantly, to improve others. NJHS will give more opportunities to help serve my...show more content... All this and more will help me reach my goal of one day being able to relate to a wide variety people, being able to work with and guide anyone, and everyone, through relationships developed between a leader and his followers. I wish to be that leader that makes a change in the world to help relieve the pressure that people around the world feel every day, the pressure to work with people that they hate, that they despise, by eliminating that distaste. Unfortunately, certain people will always dislike others, but people can change. I will be the one to help make that change in people. This journey will all start with NJHS. by first working to bring together this small group of people, to work to improve the community with them and to lead them. Not many other programs can say that they can really achieve this. But NJHS can. We, as people working united to better our community, and ourselves, can achieve this. I simply ask, that you give me the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. NJHS: My Reasons For Student Success Please consider me for NJHS for the following reasons. The first reason is that I have a lot of academic success. I have received many awards for being an A average student. I have received these many awards 4th–6th grade and hopefully 7th. Not only am I an A average student, I have also been recognized in the Gifted and Talented program since 4th grade. I am gifted and talented in both math and dance. While I am having all this academic success, I am also maintaining all A's all year so far. Why I am very surprised by this is because I am dancing 15 hours a week. When I am not dancing I am probably doing homework. Another reason is that I have participated and led in many things. For example, I am an officer on the dance team at Gray Middle School. I have led this team to getting first place at nationals and 9th place at finals. Speaking of dance, I wanted to tell you that in 6th grade I was a leader of my other dance team, Planet Dance Cincinnati.Because of this, we got 1st place at our first competition of the season! Last but not least, I am a leader of the student foundation, Holly Jolly Hygiene bags. In our first year, we have already made 25 bags filled with hygiene supplies for the homeless of Cincinnati. I try to be a decent role model and leader for these people....show more content... I am very exemplary with my action. For example, I have a good behavior at school and dance. I am also very responsible. I take care of things like school work and make sure they are done correctly. Lastly I show citeezenship by helping my community. These things make me the person I am Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Njhs Application Essay Examples I was pleasantly surprised when I received my letter informing me that I was eligible to be part of the NJHS. Once I looked it over and saw that there was an essay part of the application, I thought it would be difficult to "brag" about myself considering I'm just a normal twelve year old who likes to sing, swim, and ride horses. While I was thinking about what I do to be an active part of the student body of Schindewolf Intermediate, it became a little less difficult to picture. I'm involved in many activities at school including orchestra, choir, show choir, and athletics. These all prove me to be hard working and committed to making myself the best person I can possibly be. In sixth grade I was involved in Klein Academic Competition for the writing portion, and this year I will be taking the Duke University ACT test for all subjects. Outside of school, I am also active in my community. I am involved in many activities. For my church; Spring Baptist Klein Campus; I have been involved as a volunteer at VacationBible School for 2 years. I have volunteered for crafts both years because I like to be around children of...show more content... I have many different qualities that attribute to my character. Some including, I am a naturally positive person, I am non–judgmental, and I try my best to be focused and efficient. I also like to make people laugh, but I know when to be serious. Part of being a good leader is knowing how to work as a team. Many of the activities I participate in have shown me how to do so. I believe in working as a team to come up with solutions, plans, and ideas. I have a passion to change people's lives. Therefore I am deeply honored to have been chosen out of a few hundred to have the opportunity to be part of the National Junior Honor Society. This experience would teach me much more about being a leader. I feel I would be an important asset to your team, and I hope you will consider having Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. National Junior Honor Society Essay I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn't the worst. I try to help out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother. As previously stated, I have no major discipline problems. At home, I am, I believe a good kid. I help my mom take care of my little sisters, I cook and I support my sisters on their homework. The only incident that I have in school is a, "disturbance" I was causing, but not everyone is...show more content... I have always had Final Grades being above a B! In fifth grade, I was apart of a handful in having straight A+'s in my whole school! In sixth grade, I was apart of a test to participate in accelerated classes! Today, I am in Algebra I and in seventh grade; the lowest grade I had in this class was a B+, even above some eighth graders. During sixth and fifth grade, I got involved in Math club at Franklin Woods Intermediate, I competed against other kids in other schools, doing eighth and even high school math! I have participated in accelerated Language Arts and Math since fifth grade; I have continued to grow since then! I pride myself in being in advanced classes, many people ask how I got to be really "smart," I say, " I listen, speak at a low amount and come to school; I pay attention and ask questions." Overall, I think that the choices I made, got me here; I really like a quote from Robert Kiyosaki, that was mentioned in one of the books he Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The National Junior Honor Society The National Junior Honor Society is an important and prestigious organization that is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals, helping people, and serving the community. Being part of the NJHS is a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my determination and desire to helping people around me. I believe, that I can become a worthy member of the National Junior Honor Society because I am committed, productive, friendly, and most importantly reliable. I meet all the qualities require by this organization, such as academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. My academic achievements are proof of my hard work, dedication and exemplary character. By having a G.P.A of 3.89 and 4.0 in 6th and 7th grade, respectively, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Reasons For Njhs It is a honor to be invited to join the National Junior Honors Society. I believe I have the qualities to be excepted. I am a leader, have good character, participate in my community through service, and a good citizen. Therefore, I should be accepted into the NJHS. To begin, I exhibit qualities of a great leader. Firstly, at my Saturday morning bowling league, I am positioned as the anchor, which means I am expected to lead my team to victory.. Secondly, I lead by being a good example to my peers, and I am a positive role model. Lastly, when my friends have problems they come to me and I lead them to a positive solution. This is being a good leader. Next, I show good character in many ways. One way is that is that I am honest. For example, when anyone asks me a question I always answer with the truth. Also, I like to be open to all people, and I also have a loving personality. Good character is an important necessity for NJHS....show more content... I serve at my church by helping the kids learn more about their religion and I occasionally help at the food bank. Also, every Wednesday I help babysit my baby cousin Olivia. But, the main reason I give service is to learn more about life and people. I also give service because it brings joy to my heart. In addition citizenship is important. To show good citizenship, I respect authority, follow rules, and stick up for people. I practice good citizenship everyday. This is what it takes to be a good citizen. In conclusion, It is important to have leadership, good character, give service, and be an upstanding citizen. It would be an honor to be inducted into NJHS. Therefore, I have the qualities to be inducted to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 8. National Honors Junior Society The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society, students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through service to the school and the surrounding community. I should be a part of this society because I believe I posses great leadership, scholarship, character, citizenship, and service qualities. One aspect of membership in this society is leadership and service. I believe I have leadership qualities because I have captained many sports teams inside of school and outside of school. Being a captain of my team illustrates that I have leadership attributes, and that my teammates trust me to...show more content... First, I believe I have great scholarship attributes because I have been able to maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher this whole year, while being in all honor classes and being in a 10th grade math class. During the first trimester, I was able to have straight A's and only one A– while the rest were A and one A+. I have good character because I respect all my peers and teachers. I also have not received a detention this year and very few white slips for arriving late to school. Lastly, I am very responsible and try to get all my work done days before it's due which is illustrated by not having a late or missing assignment. Finishing this assignment five days before the due date proves my commitment to my work. The final characteristic is citizenship. I believe I am a good citizen because I have had very few, if not any minor school infractions this year and no major school Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Njhs Application Essay Examples I would be a great candidate for an officer of NJHS because I know how to stay organized and on task, I can communicate my ideas to others effectively, and I have great leadership skills. For example, in 6th grade, my friends and I volunteered during an 8th grade lunch hour to sell lemonade for a charity called Alex's Lemonade Stand, which is a foundation for childhood cancer. Even though the 8th graders were extremely loud and distracting, and often tried to get lemonade for free, my friends and I stayed on task. As a result, we sold so much lemonade that we ended up having to refill the 5–gallon tank of lemonade before the lunch hour was over. Had we not been able to stay focused on selling lemonade, we could have easily forgotten orders...show more content... In order to collect funds to adopt a panda for the school, we set up recycling bins throughout the school for students to put their water bottles in. In turn, every week one person from the group would pick up the water bottles and bring them to a grocery store, recycle them, and collect money from it. We also made many presentations to people of authority, such as the Principals and the Parent–Teacher Association. After the school year had ended, we had raised over $500 and adopted a giant panda cub for the school. We also had seen the effect of ourleadership and cooperativity show up in younger students, who, many of them, were eager to help other causes. Finally, over the recent summer, I was the first violinist in a string quartet in a youth symphony workshop I attended. As first violinist, I was in charge of leading the group during rehearsals and in the final performance we had at the end of the week. During rehearsals, I worked with the rest of the group to master an entire quartet piece in one week, which involved keeping the group together and with the tempo throughout the song, making sure all cues were on time, and that we all knew which areas of the song to practice each day to ensure that the piece would be perfected by our final Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Five Pillars Of Njhs I, Patrick Moore, want to join NJHS, and I exemplify the five pillars of NJHS necessary to do so. The five pillars of NJHS are scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. I show these qualities through my everyday life, by going to school, doing community service, and by participating in extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. These five qualities are more than just things in NJHS to me because I take these qualities and try to incorporate them into my life. I do this because they are important and meaningful to me. I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school. I take school seriously and enjoy it at the same time. This means that I work my hardest on every assignment, and I always put forth my ...show more content... I think that citizenship and service are linked in a way. I think that to be a good citizen and properly fulfill your role, you have to help out in the community. I do my part at school by doing what teachers ask of me, always being respectful, and by taking the time to do things the right way such as putting things in the right bins at the end of lunch. I also serve my community by doing community service hours and by picking up litter. I do community service hours by organizing food drives, volunteering at a food bank, and by helping out in a community garden. I help out in this garden by watering it, and I also take the food from it to Friendship Trays. I desire to be a part of NJHS, and I think that I possess the qualities necessary to be in NJHS. I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school and at home. I exemplify the quality of character by being honest and by being an individual. I exemplify the quality of leadership by helping out my teammates and classmates. I exemplify the qualities of citizenship and service by playing my part in the community and by doing community service. Being a member of a club requires responsibility, leadership and commitment. However, society often secludes the fact that people who leave their mark on this world, also have imagination. • 12. Paideia Examples Paideia refers to an ancient Greek philosophy centered around the upbringing of a child –––more specifically, the gathering and instilling of ideal characteristics into said child that would in turn make them into "an ideal member of society". The Greeks saw it fit to not only be well put together physically but also spiritually and mentally. They had events in place such as wrestling and gymnastics to build one's physical. They also delved into concepts such as the study of music, poetry and philosophy which they believed kept one's moral compass pointing in the right direction. However, these philosophies were only meant to be instilled in the male populous of the society, leaving the females to be seen as incompetent vessels that were only...show more content... I have always been a leader, as far as I can remember. Even among those gifted with strong personalities, I feel as if though I still step out as the leader among them. For example, I recently participated in a mock debate that showed the top 3 candidates of the 2016 Presidential Election. Speaking in front of people, whether it be a crowd of 5 or 500, makes fear course through my veins. However, my group members wanted me to be the spokesperson and I agreed. When the day came for me to get in front of the crowd of over 200 people, I felt slightly faint but I had a group that were depending on me. Therefore, I had to push my fears and my worries aside. That is what I believe a true leader is. A true leader to me is not the person who leads fearlessly but the person who finds strength from deciding that the needs of those they are leading trump their fears.Character is defined as "the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual". I am no saint but I think overall I am a very morally upright person. I can honestly say that I am kind to everyone even when they are not kind to me. • 14. Honor Roll Essay If I were to pick one academic "wake–up" call would during my 10th grade year where I barely made honor roll. Although I eventually made it though the year, I didn't achieve the goals I had set for myself. I learned a great skill from that moment on, time management. Managing so many things at once can be stressful but learning how to balance it all out in a given time is something I won't forget. Over the years I've grown more mature about my education and have learned to invest more time towards my future. I feel like I've come very far from when I started high–school, developing from a shy child to someone who is outgoing and can express themselves in the classroom as well as outside of school. • 17. Njhs Essay Examples NJHS Essay It is truly an honor to be recognized by National Junior Honor Society. I realize it will take so much more than fantastic grades to be a part of NJHS. It will require tremendous commitment, determination, and a significant amount of time. I honestly believe that an NJHS member should always feel the need to always help others. The volunteer spirit should not only be shown in the community, but at home, church, and in school. The five pillars of scholarship are: service, leadership, scholarship, character, and citizenship. Service is an action of helping or doing work for another person. I have been volunteering at the Moravian church in Nazareth. Myself and the other volunteers prepare sandwiches and other snacks. We work to serve the lunches to the underprivileged families. I've also volunteered at the Nazareth Area Food Bank. When the food bank receives food, the volunteers...show more content... Character is defined as one's moral qualities. I have very high expectations for my character, and I hold myself to them. Every time a person isn't the nicest to me or someone else, I remind myself not to stoop to their level. I tell myself, "Treat others how you would want to be treated." I will always treat myself and everyone around me with respect, courtesy, and kindness. I am a great citizen in many ways. I am active in my community and I offer my assistance when needed. I am an honest and trustworthy citizen. I follow all of the rule and laws, and take responsibility for my actions. All in all, NJHS will be a great opportunity and if I am accepted I will do my best to serve my community, lead my classmates, strive for the highest possible academic achievement, and model what it truly means to be a Nazareth Blue Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Intj Essay Examples "You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over."– Richard Branson The quote above symbolizes the variety in which people learn, and that applies to their lives. Learning styles tend to relate to the personalities in which an individual carries. Katherine and Isabel Briggs, developed a test which determines your personality, or learning style. I am, personally, an INTJ, which under an easier alias is, "Mastermind." Personality types affect your instinctive actions, and influence you in everyday life. It is my belief that my personality type directly correlates to my performances in competitive sports. On the soccer or football field, I can envision complex scenarios and think abstractly to tackle predicaments. Also, seeing the, "Big Picture" I can predict what enemy strategy is, based on their communication and motion. I am the first one to introduce a unique strategy when the old is proving ineffective or too predictable. An anecdote to support my claim, occurred during 5th grade, at a recreational soccer game. My team was losing 5–3, and the opposing team had an incredible offense, however their defense lacked the same skill. After analyzing the weak links within the defense, I suggested that once we get the ball to their side side and near the goal, we kick the ball out of bounds on purpose, in hopes of having a weak defender take the job of throwing the ball back in. After much arguing and elementary bickering, everyone agreed. My team did this multiple times, as the throws from the defenders were awkward and done hesitantly. We used the less instinctive to our advantage and maneuvered their throws to our liking, so that we had a better shot at scoring. Soon, we scored enough from that strategy to earn us victory. In conclusion, being, "iNtuitive" gave me insight to see the large problems, and impacted my approach in competitive sports. The third letter, which represents, "Thinker" also influences my actions during competitive activities. "Thinker" is the third letter in the, "INTJ" personality Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Here is how I exemplify these five pillars. The first pillar is scholarship. Scholarship is to be educated and have good grades. I am a hardworking student. I know when I need extra help and I got all A's on my end of the year report card. I am smart and have a good work ethic. The second pillar is character. Character is who you are and what your personality is like. I think I am kind, happy, and energetic almost all the time. • 20. Characteristics Of An NJHS Member I believe that an NJHS member should be kind, determined, helpful, and should have respect for others. These are important traits because they reveal the person's personality and character. Henry James once said, "Three things in human life that are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. The third is to be kind." An NJHS member should be kind, because kindness strengthens people, and it makes them feel virtuous. People who are kind are normally more compassionate, confident, and comfortable with others and themselves. A kind person is loving and wants everyone to feel good. Napoleon Bonaparte said,"The truest wisdom is resolute determination." Determination means to keep going even if something is difficult. An NJHS member Get more content on HelpWriting.net
