The Fashion & Luxury Summer School, based in Lugano, Switzerland, is an international programme run by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in partnership with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), School of Business, and in close cooperation with leading industry brands, TicinoModa and the School of Textile and Apparel (STA).
The Fashion & Luxury Summer School offers studies in Business Management and Innovative Technologies for the fashion and luxury industry, with a focus on current industry topics. It is situated in a region known as Switzerland's Fashion Valley, chosen by numerous fashion and luxury brands for their headquarters and logistic operations. It is also strategically positioned close to Como, Italy's silk and textiles manufacturing centre, and to Milan, the fashion design capital of the world.
The Fashion & Luxury Summer School is a one-week programme open to Swiss and international Bachelor, Master and PhD degree students. During this full-immersion week participants will experience innovation in the classroom, in the university labs and inside fashion and luxury companies, learning about cutting-edge research and management best practices.

The Fashion & Luxury Summer School, based in

During the one-week programme, taught in
English, students will learn from experienced
lecturers in the university’s classroom and labs
and engage in hands-on company workshops
offered on-site, involving fashion and luxury
industry practitioners. Teamwork, interaction and
networking will be actively encouraged.
Focus:Sustainability
The fashion and luxury sector is increasingly
confrontedwiththeneedtoaddressSustainability
systemically and at each phase of the fashion
and luxury product life cycle and value chain. This
poses specific environmental, social, economic
as well as peculiar aesthetic challenges; it also
offers great opportunities for value creation. The
Fashion & Luxury Sustainability Summer School
programme aims at delivering an understanding
of these topics and of the theories, methods,
innovative technologies, managerial approaches
and cutting-edge research supporting the industry
in developing strategies for a viable, ethical future.
Culturalandleisureprogramme
The Fashion & Luxury Summer School programme
includes a number of cultural and leisure activities
in the lake region of Locarno and Lugano, ranging
from boat excursions to live music performances. A
day in fashion design capital, Milan, is also planned.
3. EarningCredits
The programme builds on at least two years of
university studies and is academically challenging,
with an applied management and technology
focus. The week includes contact hours, self-study
time, lab work and on-site company workshops for
a total of 30 academic hours. Participants will earn
3 ECTS credits. Additional work will be requested
from Master students and PhD researchers.
On successful completion of the programme
participants will receive an official Transcript of
Records featuring the ECTS credits achieved. The
programme language is English.

The Fashion & Luxury Sustainability Summer
School is held at the University of Applied Sciences
and Arts of Southern Switzerland – Lugano and in
other locations in the region, in a modern, safe and
welcoming environment. Lugano is situated in the
heart of the Ticino region. It is a tourist destination
of choice for vacationers from all over the world,
ideally located a few hours from major Swiss cities
and close to the Italian border.
