3. Installation and setup
Install the marketing_campaign module
The email_template module comes for free
Then you probably want some email integration:
Setup a mail gateway that feeds incoming emails to OpenERP
Or configure the fetchmail to read a POP/IMAP account
At this point, the documents of interest should be
integrated with emails (CRM Leads, or Project
Issues, or HR Applicants)

5. Design a campaign: Activities
Kinds of actions bound to an activity:
Sending an email + attachments (based on a template)
Generating a report
Executing any action
Make sure to have proper exit conditions
When should item exit the campaign
Remember that email response
@odony
6. Segments
Segments are the input sources for your campaigns
No segment = no item entering the campaign
As simple as saving a filter
Critical for reporting
@odony
7. Campaign Simulation
Last important step: manual simulation
Put the campaign into test mode or manual mode
Process a few entries
Verify the various campaign paths
Recommended: leave new campaigns in manual
mode for a few days, to monitor closely
@odony
8. Follow-up
Daily
Monitor the campaign performance day-to-day
Group-by campaign, activity
Number of items added daily:
Group by activity “start”, state = Done, Today
Number of emails sent daily:
Group by activity “*Mail*”, Today
Periodically
