“Volunteering at Barretstown has become the high point of my year. I believe
so much in the work that is done there, that to have an opportunity to be a small
part of the magic is an honour. Not only is it a thoroughly enjoyable experience, it
also affords the opportunity to meet some truly inspirational people & I always
come away with a tremendous sense of perspective & balance and some
lifelong friends..” A Volunteer

Barretstown has become the only centre for therapeutic recreation in Europe, a place where children with serious illness and their families can come to stay and take part in challenging activities which help rebuild their self-esteem and confidence. In many cases children & teens affected by serious illness have been denied the ordinary experience of growing up.
