3. I think that the masthead ’Pump’ is one of my best
ideas for my magazine as its a short catchy name that
could be memorable. It also shows the type of
‘pumping’ music that the magazine will be focused on
and suggests that the latest music information is being
‘pumped’ at them fast and efficiently. This was also my
second favourite masthead name from my sample. My
second idea ‘Festival’ is also my favourite idea out of all
of them as it clearly relates to music. The type of music
that I want to be basing my magazine around also
relates most to this masthead, as the artists I will be
using such as Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj are typically
always seen at festivals so will attract the right type of
target audience. This was my samples favourite as well.
I believe ‘Musicberry’ is a good idea for the magazine
as it shows clearly that the magazine is focused on music, and the audience will know this straight away with out
having to read about it. It is also an upbeat fun name that will attract teenagers which are my target audience.
The sample did not like this option, therefore I wont be using this masthead. ‘Dented’ is the least most interesting
name for my magazine as I feel even though is it memorable it does not relate to music in any way, it could also
imply that it is a bad magazine by it being ‘dented’ that it is giving wrong or false information inside, that would put
of some readers. This wasn’t the samples least favourite but still had quite low results. The mast head ‘Update’
doesn't typically relate to music as such but does give the impression that the readers will be getting regular
efficient ‘Updates’ about the music industry. Which will make the buyers more interested and also makes it more
trustworthy. It also makes my magazine seem more sophisticated as it is not trying to hard, ‘Update’ had very low
results which shows my pols audience did not like this as much as the others. From my research I found that a large
percentage of my target audience also preferred the name ‘Festival’ and had the highest results in my samples
pol, so this is the masthead title I will be using.
