The municipality was formed in 1989 after
separating from Perello after several years of
litigation. L’Ampolla has been declared a
municipality in 1937 but segregation was canceled
at the end of the Spanish Civil War.
5. WHAT CAN YOU SEE IN L’AMPOLLA?
You can see a lot of things in l’Ampolla.
There are a lot of beaches, lookout points,
a path that goes to Cap Roig, cliffs… there
is also the Bassa de les Olles, the harbor,
the wooden walk way…
6. WHAT’S L’AMPOLLA LIKE?
L’Ampolla is a small town near the
sea. The houses are usually small,
with 4/5 floors each, but there’s also
bigger flats with 11 floors. In
l’Ampolla mar there are the biggest
houses of the town, with gardens
and often pools. In the center of
l’Ampolla there are three plazas and
almost every shop.
Next to the harbor, there’s a park,
but we have two more, one next to
the sea in the restaurant La Barraca
and the other behind the town hall.
7. WHAT CAN YOU DO IN L’AMPOLLA?
The best time to visit
l’Ampolla is in summer,
but you can visit it in
other seasons. If you
come on summer, you
can go to the beaches,
go to the celebrations of
Sant Joan or la Verge del
Carme. If you come on
other seasons you can
visit the Ebro delta, the
Bassa de les Olles, etc.
8. WHAT’S MISSING IN L’AMPOLLA?
In l’Ampolla there are a lot of things to do, but
here we don’t have:
A mall
A cinema
A hospital
A skate park
9. CELEBRATIONS IN L’AMPOLLA
L’Ampolla is a town with many celebrations, usually
on summer. The first celebration of that season is
Sant Joan’s one, when we have the dance, the
“pubilles” and other parties.
The second one is the Verge de la Carme
celebration, in which we have processions and
shows for the kids.
During the year, we have more celebrations, like
the Day of the Ostrich, the Day of the Rice, etc.
