In january 2010, FDM became the world’s first online database that offered to bring brand new design from
independent furniture designers to the world market. Today, complete design concepts are offered to producers,

2. FDM Design Projects
FDM will deliver all the furniture
for the atrium of the brand new
Norwegian Competence Centre
Maritime (NCCM) in Aalesund,
Norway in March 2012.
The selected items have been
designed by Jarle Slyngstad
(Norway) and Francois Papaste-
fanou (South Africa). In addition to
project management and produc-
tion, FDM’s interior architects have
also done the interior design for
the atrium.

3. Trapezoid
Design: Jarle Slyngstad (Norway)
Trapezoid is inspired by the geometric shape trapeze and is
designed for active meeting places in a modern environment
or home.
The tight expression can be softened with additional pillows.
The sofa is built on a fiberglass frame.
Aksel vision
Design: Joo HongKyu (South korea), for Aksel L. Hansson Furniture, Norway
With a futuristic view, this chair interprets tradition in a contemporary fashion. The
handwoven seat is made of terylene and polypropylene, while the transparent back
bars are made of poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA), through 8 different production
processes.
While the chair remains true to its original, it branches into a new era of modern and
embraces the future. Aksel® Vision intends to merge the traditional with contemporary
– with the same comfort and quality. “
Gravity
Design: Esteban + Moreno (Spain)
An eye-catching sofa, casted in fiberglass and steal reinforce-
ments, covered by foam and wool fabric. The space between
seating and floor is empty, enpowering the shape of frame.
Due to its heavy weight (150 kilos), this item is only sold to the
contract market. The Gravity sofa can be delivered in a variey of
versions, colors and sizes.

hotel room environments.
These signature hotel room de-
signs, in different price segments,
will be launched towards hotels in
Europe, Asia, The Middle East, USA
and Australia in 2012.
