2. What is the Paschal Mystery? Referred to as the suffering, death, resurrection and glorification of Jesus Christ. Paschal actually means ‘passing over’ and this can relate to the Paschal Mystery as Jesus passes from life on earth through death, resurrection and ascension into heaven.

3. Why is Jesus called "The Lamb of God"? During the original Passover lambs were killed and their blood was smeared over the doors of houses in Egypt to save the Israelites. This relates to Jesus as he was killed like the lamb was as a sacrifice so that our sins may be forgiven. In a way he has saved us just like the lambs were suppose to save the Israelites.

4. Why did Jesus have to suffer and die? He had to suffer and die for our sins. He had to die as a sacrifice for us as well as reminding us that he was our saviour. Jesus also had to suffer because God is righteous and since Jesus was saving us from our sins he had to pay a penalty for all the sins in order to redeem mankind.

5. What does the Resurrection mean for Christians? It is a clear demonstration of the power of the true God. The resurrection proves that Jesus is God. Our salvation depends on our faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves to us that the teachings of Jesus Christ are true. Our own resurrection depends completely on Jesus’ resurrection. The power of our Christian life in the present is the power of his resurrection. The resurrection demonstrates that this Jesus is going to be the appointed judge of all the wicked people in the world.

Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover not only for much of its symbolism but also for its position in the calendar. Maundy Thursday's emphasis on ritual washing also gave rise to the ancient tradition of spring cleaning, evidently related to the Jewish custom of ritually cleaning the home in preparation for the Feast of Passover. Everything was to be cleaned and polished in preparation for the Easter celebration.
