Below is the link to my presentation about Sound In Film. In this presentation, I watched scenes from American comedy film, 'Think Like A Man Too', and analysed the use of sound effects and soundtrack music and its effect on the audience. For example, vibrant, upbeat music was used in the film to convey the theme of comedy and to reflect on the protagonist's personality.

3. Think Like A Man Too is a 2014 American comedy film
about two group of couples that go to Las Vegas for
their bachelor and bachelorette parties for their friend’s
wedding. The film is narrated by comedian, Kevin Hart.

4. In the scene I selected, Kevin Hart’s character,
Cedric, celebrates his holiday in Vegas in his
expensive, rented villa.

5. The soundtrack of the scene is ‘I Know You Want
Me’ by rapper, Pitbull. The song is a fast, upbeat
song with a catchy, pop hook that perfectly
compliments the funny, vibrant nature of the
scene and also Cedric’s character. This shows the
viewer that the film is comedic and entertaining.

6. There is very little use of sound effects in
this scene. However, there is a ‘clap’
noise to show that Cedric is enjoying the
music and making the most of his
holiday in Las Vegas.

7. Also, there is a squeaking sound as
Cedric makes a failed attempt to do the
splits while dancing. This sound effect is
mainly for humorous purposes to make
the viewer laugh.

8. The SFX and the soundtrack of this scene
reveals that Cedric is a funny, peculiar
character in this film enjoying himself. The
editors of this film have successfully used
these sounds to portray this persona through
the SFX and music.
