Srinivas Kilambi proposes a new "CS2 Process" that uses sea water to produce drinking water, green cement, and green power in a sustainable way. The process sequesters 100% of carbon dioxide in the production of limestone from sea water. It then uses this limestone to produce cement and energy, avoiding the need for quarries or mines. A 100 million gallon per day sea water plant could produce 80 million gallons of fresh water, cement, green chemicals and power while eliminating fossil fuel usage and greenhouse gas emissions through carbon sequestration. The process has many benefits over conventional methods and Kilambi is seeking partners to build a pilot plant.

4. Why Water & Cement?
Water is the most used commodity on
earth followed by cement
Cement Industry consumes ~2% of
world’s energy and produces 6-8% of
world’s GHGs
~40% of world’s has drought/arid areas
even though 70% of earth is sea water
5. Current Technologies &
Limitations
Water Desalination
Current Tech: RO &
Distillation
Energy/Capex Intensive
$0.5-1/g water: Not Viable

High Energy and Capex.
Very High CO2/GHGs/Hg
6. Is there any Solution that
helps shape the future of our
coasts?
Yes and
it is Sriya’s “CS2” Process
7. CS2 = Comb. Syn. + C

Conventional OPC technology: 1500 C , 30-40 min in a kiln
SGM’s “CS2” technology 100 C, 20-40 s; no kiln:
◦ Instant cooling (20-30% lower energy needs)
◦ Eliminates hard crushing: 50% power reduction
55-70% power efficiency
Exhaust CO2 sequestered in sea water to limestone
High value metals oxides from sea water = Very High Profits
