6. Objective
To measure the performance of
a smartphone
application, which allows to
manage safety preoperative
checklist for
patients, according to their
conditions.

Comprueba - Check it!
Personalized checklist, according to:
- Characteristics and need
Costa del Sol Hospital (Marbella, Málaga)
Personalized for each patient
48/24 hours before the surgery

8. Methods
Comprueba allows:
- to create alarms
- to notify the hospital in case some critical check is hasn´t
been met.
- integration with the EMR and personal health record.

9. Methods
Main benefits:
- It is a new filter on an really early stage of the
surgery.
- To avoid cancellations of surgeries due to
improper preparation of the patient
(currently, 15%).

10. Results
Pilot stage:
- At the Outpatient Service and the Ambulatory Surgical service (Cataracts intervention)
- 1250 patients
- Expected cancellations under 1%
- Already planing to extend it to other surgeries.
Conclusions
This app opens the way to the possibility of generating other personalized medical
safety checklists for patients (Invasive procedures, safe childbirth checklist…).
