Graded papers will be passed back as they are graded. Graded papers and notes home will be in the notes home pocket of the colored pocket folder. The colored pocket folder should be cleaned out nightly. Notes to return to school should be placed in the return to school pocket of the colored pocket folder .
After graded papers have been viewed by the parents, the papers need to be placed behind the corresponding subject tab. Subject tabs will be cleaned out at school at the end of the unit.
Students will fill out their assignment sheet daily. Assignments will be posted in the classroom, in the hallway and given orally.
A proper study environment should be established at home to facilitate good study habits. It is important to establish a spot for the student binder at home. One location makes it easy for parents to check the binder and students to return it to school the next day.
Homework Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday . Typical homework schedule will be… Monday: Language Arts and Math Tuesday: Social Studies and Math Wednesday: Science and L. Arts Thursday: Spelling pretest and Math
A homework slip will be issued when homework is not turned in on time. The student will sit out at recess to finish the assignment. The homework slip is mailed home. The student’s grade will drop upon receiving 3 homework slips in one subject in one grading period ( an A- would drop to a B+).
Tests Tests will be given at the conclusion of a unit of study. Sufficient review will be done in class. Review sheets will be sent home for parents to see what the tests will cover. Test formats will vary.
Interim reports are mailed at the mid-point of the nine week grading period. Interims are designed to inform parents of student progress half way through the grading period. Report cards are sent home with the students at the end of the nine week grading period.
