topographically-correlated atmospheric errors.

The reduction in interferogram standard deviation
between the two datasets is comparable, with a 14%
reduction for Sentinel-1A and 13% reduction for
TerraSAR-X. A reduction in value indicates an
improvement to the interferogram.

Larger values of R2 are observed for the non-corrected
datasets, suggesting that application of ERA-I has
reduced the effects of stratified atmospheric noise and
the correlation between displacements and topography.

Locations (a), (b) and (c1, c2, c3) show areas of displacements described in the text: (a) broad (>5 km wide) subsidence at up to 15 mm/y; (b) elongated regions of adjacent relative uplift and subsidence; and (c) localised (∼2 km wide), rapid (greater than 20 mm/y) subsidence coincident with wetland areas.
