Totalitarianism In Ww2
The chaos that followed in the wake of World War I allowed and encouraged the establishment of
totalitarian regimes. Totalitarianism is a system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and
required complete subservience to the state. It took place in Germany, Italy, and Japan. This type of
militarism went on in many different countries and for many different reasons. Totalitarianism in
Germany lasted from 1933–1945. 1933 is when Hitler was elected to powers. The nazi party was a
political group that ruled under Adolf Hitler's leadership the nazis started World War II. Reasons
why Hitler was able to rule was because he promised that he would put food on their tables and
money in their pockets. To be able to support the military's war the Germans built up war materials
which was against the Treaty of Versailles. Many countries...show more content...
The Germans where capitalist they made alliances through business partnerships. A way they
ruled was by using media and propaganda. Hitler had total religious control of the citizens, but
for the people that were not jews they had some freedom. Italy was frustrated by the Treaty of
Versailles. Italy believed that they contributed to the allied force victory of World war One was
not fairly rewarded in the treaty. They felt that Britain, France and Russia got the best deal
instead, three years following the end of the war were marked by economic and political
instability. Massive unemployment and debts crippled the once effective government. Because of
the economic and political instability a new ruler was able to come in. Italy was under the rule of
of the ruthless and violent dictator Benito Mussolini. He rose to power in the wake of World War I
as a leading proponent of Fascism. Fascism is a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that
of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized
autocratic government headed by a dictatorial

Totalitarianism in Italy Essay
A totalitarian state is defined as "a few control everything," and "the government controls every
aspect of the citizens life." This cannot be better exemplified than by Italy under the rule of the
ruthless and violent dictator, Benito Mussolini. What a totalitarian state is, the characteristics it
has, and how Italy turned into one are three points that will be studied in this essay. A brief look
into Mussolini's life and his rise to power will also be examined, as well as how his reign resulted
for Italy and in turn, how it affected the whole world. An assessment of Italy as a totalitarian state
will bring this essay to a close. A totalitarian state is a highly centralized government controlled by
one political group, and usually one...show more content...
He turned Fascist militia into a private army, called the MVSN, and they dealt with his
opponents. He also ordered police to arrest his opponents. Since Mussolini wanted support from
the Pope, he increased pay for priests, ordered schools to teach religion, banned obscene books and
made swearing in public a crime. He wanted to show efficiency, so he improved public services,
especially transport. People admired him, saying he "made the trains run on time."1 Mussolini held a
general election after a year in office. He introduced the Acerbo Law, which stated that the party with
the most votes got two–thirds of the seats in parliament, so that Fascists could be fairly sure of a
majority. Fascists had elections rigged in many towns. They confiscated opponents' voting cards,
put the names of dead people on voting lists and pretended to be them and stole the ballot box if
they thought the vote was against them. They ended up winning 65% of the vote.
Mussolini was just getting started. He once said "a good
beating never did any harm."2 He had Socialist politicians beaten up, tortured, terrorized and killed.
Mussolini truly wanted to control every aspect of Italians' lives. He introduced censorship laws to
the press. They could only print news approved by the government, and anti–Fascist papers were
shut down. He banned all political parties, other than the Fascist party, expelled opposition MPs from
parliament, and

Totalitarianism
Totalitarianism is a political system in which the state holds total control over the society and seeks
to control all aspects of public and private life. To be considered as a totalitarian state, the country
must have several characteristics. However the totalitarian states have different characteristics from
each other. All the totalitarian states have two things in common with each other. They must have
an ideology that applies to all aspects of life and outlines mean to attain a final goal, which is to
create a utopian society. They must also have a single mass party (Encyclopedia 2012). The dictator
controls the governmental systems. They will get rid of other political parties in that country. They

Totalitarian States Essay
Why United States Could Become a Totalitarian State
From my point of view, there is a chance for every country in the world to develop into a totalitarian
state. In the United States case, I believe that the fact that "America is not the greatest country in the
world anymore" is becoming more widespread and spoken about. Something has to be done to gain
back the country's status. My opinion is that in a way of becoming the greatest country in the world
again, a totalitarian state might develop. Throughout this paper, I will discuss how the United States
could transform into a totalitarian state from a cultural, economical, and political perspective.
Totalitarianism is a political system where the people are "one with the state". Benito Mussolini

When taking a look at American society, there is a political tension, there is racism, and there is
economical differences between lower–, middle– and upper–class. The complications within the
country creates insecurity. Unity on the other hand, creates a strong and powerful state. In a
totalitarian system, there is one strong central ruler that tends to take control over the people and
direct every aspect of their lives – in America's case this would be the American president, Donald
Trump. As an international student, I believe I have the ability to look at America from a new
perspective. According to myself, America has a great tendency to believe that they are "the best
country in the world", and when it comes to totalitarianism, the individuals that are a part of the
totalitarian state are often looking at themselves as more worthy than nonmember. As seen in the
movie, the organization – Die Welle– looked down on other organizations and individuals that was
not a part of their group. The American people are divorced and divided, but with the right
propaganda, I believe that this can change – all citizens are proud of being American. America is an
extremely powerful country, and that is why I believe that the tendency of becoming a totalitarian
state is greater than what it would be for a country with less influence in the world. Compared to a
country such as
