Online education, while offering clear advantages such as supporting a self–paced learning
experience by allowing learning on an on–demand basis rather than a strict class schedule, also has
significant drawbacks. Students in an online only course may struggle with structure and content
without hands–on instruction, which can help motivate students who otherwise may be distracted or
have difficulty working independently. The traditional structure of classroomeducation is effective,
but also comes with a set of obstacles, particularly for nontraditional students. The best way to bridge
this gap is hybrid education, which combines technology and personal interaction to support
efficiency and self–paced learning while keeping students...show more content...
In order to fully understand the benefits of the hybrid educational model, it is necessary to discuss
some of the benefits and flaws of both online and offline education, as successful hybrid education
should combine best practices from both disciplines to create a more effective learning environment.
Classroom instruction benefits from time–tested success and is still the dominant educational model,
but comes with some negatives, particularly in the digital age. One issue that students in traditional
classrooms face is attrition due to boredom and lack of relevancy in education. Some education
experts believe that the educational system needs to evolve from a traditional style to a more
interactive experience. Derek Bok, former Harvard president, believes that education needs to "move
from 'a teacher–oriented system featuring lectures delivered to passive audiences' to a
'learner–centered process in which students become more actively involved in their own education'"
in order to reach modern students (qtd. in Friedman and Friedman). While not explicitly stated,
online or hybrid education could be used to solve this problem, since the student is forced to take an
integral role in managing their own learning.
Another significant issue in traditional higher education is retention rate. It is possible that online

Reflection Paper On Preceptorship Experience
Prior to beginning the nursing program the only patient contact that I had was in an outpatient
clinic setting and had often thought how great it would be to become a nurse. As my preceptor
clinical experience has come to an end, I can being to look back and reflect on my experiences not
just over these past few months, but from the beginning at Avalon Care Center my first exposure to
a long term care facility. Which at that time had made me question, if nursing is the right career
path for me? Since then, I have had many wonderful experiences from being able to watch an open
heart surgery for a valve replacement and a total neck resection for throat cancer with, jaw
reconstruction with the use of the patient fibula. Still to this day, I...show more content...
In addition, I have learned that patient safety is at the forefront of nursing and the ability to think
outside of the box. Before I had started the nursing program, if I was asked about patient safety
my first thoughts would be, what could I do to the prevent the patient from falling, since then I
have come to realize that patient safety encompasses so much more. At last my last clinical we had
care of the a gentleman who spoke no English, he would just look at us and smile, If it won't for the
use of the interpreter I can see how this patient care would have been affective.
Over the course of this preceptorship, I have written a few different journals with the nursing
process as my topic, the reason for this is because the nursing process is everywhere and has
become a part of my day to day life, not just during my different clinicals over these past couple of
years, it has spilled over into work, school work assignments, and home life, as well as. I now find
myself assessing everything that needs to accomplish throughout my day and developing a plan of
action, setting priorities to works towards their completion. Another topic that I feel is very
important for a nurse is professionalism and important in developing a trust with the patients in
your care, as well as, to earn the respect of your fellow nurses and other members of the hospital
staff. Over these past couple years and I have seen that many of the patients and their families look

The Importance Of Looking Before You Leap Essay
The Importance of Looking Before You Leap Media portrays romantic relationships as a
whirlwind of emotions that ends in a happily ever after in the course of a few days; children's
movies are a larger perpetrator of this idea. But how accurate is this to real life relationships?
Research, including John Van Epp's book "How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk," tells us that
a healthy relationship is built on more than the initial emotions we feel. In chapter one of "How to
Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk," Epp discusses the importance of the love–is–blind phenomenon
where we either one, don't know how to identify predictors of relationship dissatisfaction or two,
become so attached to someone that we minimize predictors in the belief that things will get better.
The love–is–blind phenomenon causes discourse between the heart and mind, two things that need
to be harmonious in order for a healthy relationship. Epp also discusses the predictors of
(dis)satisfaction in order to find a partner that complements us and identify things that could result in
potential problems in the relationship. For the first chapter, I found the predictors to be the most
interesting point in this chapter. Epp identified five categories that seemed to play a large role in
marital satisfaction and they are compatibility potential, relationship skills, patterns from other
relationships, family patterns and background, and character and conscience traits. Compatibility
potential is the similarities

Essay about My Business Idea
My Business Idea
In my coursework I intend to start my own business. I will devise my own business plan which
outlines my business proposal and the key aspects, during this I will need to seek good business
advice on the necessary steps I will have to make. As I go through the coursework I will show
evidence, examples and explain how businesses are set up, what types of businesses there are and
their similarities, the kind of targets businesses set for themselves and also the different objectives of
different stakeholders. For my business I plan to sell toys and other game products that educate
young children under the age of 11.
Starting up a business is difficult and risky. Anyone setting up needs to consider:

Finance
=======
No businesses can be set up without finance. Most people who start their own business
underestimate the amount of money they will need to set up. They are often UNCAPITALISED
and this causes problems as the business expands. Some businesses have the potential to be highly
profitable but fail because they run out of cash at a crucial early stage in the life of the business. So
it is very important to work out how much money is needed to start the business and to identify
where the money will come from.
Identifying the sources of help
===============================
Most new businesses don not survive for more than three years of trading. However, their chance of
success is much greater if those setting up the business have received help from experts before the
launch. Many new businesses turn to Business Link or to their local
TEC. They can identify any grants, loans or benefits that are available from government or from
bodies like the Prince's Trust. They can also organise training in setting up small businesses that is
so often vital to the survival of the business.

My Reflection Of My Academic Journey In College
I have changed a lot over the last two years. Relationships and attitudes have come and gone.
However, I have always enjoyed learning. The pursuit of knowledge continues to be important to
me and I feel like I have learned a lot in my college experience so far. My academic journey has
shaped the way I look at myself, my moral understandings, and my view of happiness. In recent
years, I have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely a creator. I enjoyed making items in
high school and earlier, but I have realized in college that it is an essential part of who I am.
Furthermore, to be a good creator, one must be a good critic. In my Honors seminars and other
courses, we have read and analyzed many great works. The knowledge gained...show more content...
Nothing can be perfect, but I strive for all of my works to be the closest it can get. I know now for
sure that I am creator and it is what I always want to be. I believe I have become a better person over
the last two years. Or, at least, as good as I will get. I have a lot more respect for other people than I
used to. Before, I only surrounded myself with people that I thought would be useful later. It seems
so horrible now. I went to a very large high school. People came in and out of my life at a rapid
pace. There were several people at my graduation that I had not seen in years. I thought they
literally dropped off the face of the Earth or just moved. There was little need to be a good person
to people, because you would often never see them again. Here, I no longer have that luxury. I
mean, that is good. It is now necessary to have a good relationship with people. I think it has
certainly helped to have a group of classmates every year who have a common goal. Another
conclusion I have drawn from my last few years is that every person has a moral obligation to be
as knowledgeable as possible. My biggest pet peeve is stupid people who think they are smart. We
are in the shape we are in today because of these people. I wish people would just admit when they
do not know something. I do. I would never be seen entering a conversation about molecular biology
and acting like an expert. I

Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful Sky
Life washes over those who expect it the least. It seeps into the expanse of space and steals the hope
of the young. When I was seven, I began to play with time, innocent and vulnerable. Then life came
crashing in and destroyed everything. With water–soaked clothes and tear–streaked cheeks, I
returned home with the knowledge that life has no mercy. Life is not fair. Only the salty sting of
reality to my beaten ego was my companion.
Magnificent, heavenly light filters through the wispy clouds, signifying a new day. The thin clouds
slowly drift apart, presenting a beautiful sky above. Speaking out to me, the sky seems to know
every one of my thoughts, my dreams, my darkest fears. The sky is but a canvas of light, creating a
new picture within seconds. Weaving a story through the delicate clouds, the picture grows beyond
the expanse of sky. The colors splay before me, stunning and simple. Pink hues morph into vibrant
purples as they blend with the beautiful blues. The glittering stretch of sea shines before my eyes.
With every new wave, the light from above whispers promises of riches and sparkling diamonds.
The swift breeze that kisses the sea sends the twinkling light back into the air above.
The ocean strokes land with calm and reassuring hands, lacing water with sand and lifting seashells
in its wake. My heart urges me forward, to walk among the peace, to capture the sweet smell of sea
salt. My brain reasons with the rest of my body. Turning sharply from the lulling

Essay about Business Challenges
1. The most significant challenge to business success you see in this rapidly changing global

One significant challenge to business success in this rapidly changing global economy is that
many business are focused on efficiency and economic of scales. Just like the example provided by
Michael H. Hugo on Chapter 1, many companies are focused on lowering operating cost as much as
possible. This is causing for executives not leave any room for unpredicted changes limiting the
company's ability to respond to customer's changing needs.

While this is a practice enforced throughout the company, it was necessary to make sure that this

3. How the Marketplace simulation incorporates these challenges into simulation game play;
The Marketplace simulation incorporates these challenges by providing student with real–world
business problems and roles. Team members are challenged to make decisions and used critical
thinking in order to solve this problems virtually. While The Marketplace gives the team the tolls
necessary to have effective communication, ultimately each team members contributes to the overall
success of the team, just like in a real business situation.
4. How your readings and individual self–assessment work provide potential solutions to these
challenges.
The unit's readings have provided many solutions to the challenges businesses encounter nowadays.
To this day, there are many companies that have business plans that concentrate strictly in lowering
operating cost, cut budgets as much as possible and overwork workers that already are overworked.
Some of this solutions include: * Thinking of the costumer's needs and being able to respond to their
ever changing needs * Management needs to be transparent and make sure to communicate with
employees, especially when the organizations is making

First, it's important for you to understand that as a customer or potential customer, you have the

My Reflection On My Experience In My Class
My favorite subject throughout my years of school has always been English; I found it to be
where I put most of my effort and creativity in my writing. I didn't want to overthink the writing
skills I had already because I was told college writing was a "different ball game", so I entered the
beginning of my English101 course expecting the unexpected. I made sure to keep the goals I
wanted to achieve this semester always in mind; learn new writing techniques, strengthen my
sentence mechanic/grammar skills, become a flexible writer, and to enhance my critical thinking
skills. Throughout this semester I witness my growth as a student and my eager and dedication to
improving my skills in this course.
I tested out different approaches that benefited me the most when it came to my writing. In the
beginning, I avoided creating an outline for my essay because I viewed it as being extra work; but
as my professor taught me the correct way of drafting an outline and the details to include, I
found myself relying on the outline while composing my essay. I was able to keep track of
important details to include and create a fluent transition all throughout my essay. One habit that I
always kept when generating my ideas was to write down any thought I had randomly containing
to my essay; doing this kept all my ideas fresh in my mind. After completing my first two essays I
realized what my writing weaknesses were I knew I needed assistance. I took advantage of my
college Writing Center and got help for my final essays, taking this approach improved the quality
of my essays and taught me new ways to avoid my common writing mistakes.
Looking back at final essay grades and my professor comments, my writing skills have advanced
throughout this semester. My biggest strength was my ability to use supporting details to verify my
thesis and integrating the information fluently, "your overall coherence – transitions, emphasis, and
introduction of the outside sources is great" my professor comment on Essay 3. Conducting a
conclusion is also a strength I've advanced in my writing, summarizing the main idea of my essay
and using appeals to create a strong finish. I noticed that my weakness is my sentence mechanics and
grammar; in the

Sleeping and Dreaming Essay
Each night without fail our eyes grow heavy and our minds tired, and dreaming we drag ourselves
to bed and normally fall asleep quickly and peacefully off to dream land we go. Why is this
though? Why do we sleep every night? Why do we awake with dream fresh in our heads? How
important is this most basic human routine to our survival? What happens when it is disturbed?
Sleeping is extremely important for all mammals, but humans especially. Without sleep we are
unable to function properly and at our fullest abilities. When we sleep we grow, and it is an
opportunity for us to dream which has many benefits. Sleep is also a way for us to relieve ourselves
of stress. Sleeping is a very unique process, performed only by creature with brains...show more

EEG measures your brain activity or brain waves. When you are awake and alert you exhibit beta

slow waves called delta waves (2). It resulted in major leap in what was known about sleeping.
The first phase of modern sleep research is roughly considered to be 1928 through 1953 (1). A lot
of new information about sleeping was gained during this time period. The brains electrical

has its own system to tell us when to sleep and when to wake, our circadian rhythm. The human
body naturally runs on a twenty five hour clock, so living on a twenty four hour schedule is often
hard on the body because it loses an hour each day. On top of this natural loss most people do not
get the right amount of sleep each night which can cause a whole host of problems. This is part of

Me Before You Analysis
"Me Before You" is a film adaptation of Jojo Moyes's non–fictional book by the same name; it is
considered a Cinderella romance with the controversial topic of suicide. Most fairy tales concludes
a happy ending but "Me Before You" tells a whole different story. It is a film about disability and
assisted suicide, which is troubling enough, but is made even worse because it used a non–disabled
actor in a role of a quadriplegic. The storyline sparks criticism among the disabled and advocates of
people with disabilities.
In the film, Will Traynor, played by Sam Claflin, became quadriplegic after a traffic accident and is
paralyzed from the chest down. The accident has changed his whole life, going from an ambitious
and adventure–seeking young lad, Will is now left with no motivation in life. Will is introduced to
Louisa Clark (Lou), who will be his caretaker and companion for the next six months. What was
unknown to Lou was that she was hired by Will's parents primarily for suicide watch, because Will
is intending to seek physician–assisted suicide after six months. Eventually, Louisa discovers his
intentions and decides to use the remaining six months to change his mind. The pair falls in love,
but Will decides to go to Switzerland, where suicide is legal, to end his life nonetheless. He leaves
Lou with inheritance so that she can be free of financial insecurity and live boldly without him and
his disability.
The film triggers criticism because it advocates for suicide and

My Reflection On Business
It is urgent that the older generation make certain that the younger generation knows the importance
of EI and how it greatly will affect the changes in occupational positions.
Reflections are your takeaway from the chapter readings. Same way you have been posting your
weekly chapter discussions. Keep it short and sweet. A typical reflection paper (ALL chapters
included) should be between 300 and 700 words long.
In Chapter one I learned about business and different sections of the business. I also Learned on
how to prepare for business classes, what to look for and the main purpose of the class. How This
information will help me now and later on in life with occupation decisions and narrow down
what area of business I would like to work in. Also now that I know somewhat how to prepare before
my business classes with reading the chapters before class it will be easier to enter my
second–semester class business classes.
Chapter three discussed exploring global business and I learned more about methods international
businesses. Having lived in London over the summer, and participating in an internship and lots of
questions came up concerning how Brideship business differs from American business. Looking at
this chapter I helped me see the similarities and differences from what I experienced in business over
the summer and what I am experiencing now learning about business.
Chapter 4 I used a lot throughout this business class with my group research paper. My group's
research paper business is a non–profit. Learning more about nonprofit business and how they work
helped organizing and writing my paper.
Chapter 5
Chapter five helped me find motivation in the majority of business and make plans for me to
hopefully run a small business one day. I know how to see the signs that lead to small business
failure and how to attract employees.
Chapter 6
Chapter six prepared me in how to organize in when/how to learn communication skills, analytic
skills, etc.. Also how to improve my leadership at work, school, and relationships with others.
Chapter 7
Chapter seven showed me how to expand my management skills for the workplace. Also If I

Relationship Narrative: Personal Narrative Essay
The fairy tales say that once upon a time a girl met a boy; they fell in love, and lived happily ever
after. Reality is not that simple. Long–term relationships force couples to get to know each other,
involve themselves in each others' worlds, fight through the hard times, and eventually develop
deeper connections through distinctive stages of Knapp's relationship model. Although I have dated
the same person for over two years, the stages of our communication make it seem as though I am
now dating a different person following dissolution and subsequent repair. However, even the most

everything. I actually welcomed this protection as a sign of his caring for me since I always

stifled me and made me feel guilty whenever my communications with another guy made John
jealous and angry. He tested my feelings for him by making me feel guilty about even looking in
the direction of other guys. At the time, I ignored his jealousy because my strong feelings for him
overshadowed my own needs as an individual. Looking back, I realize our involvement actually
intensified, for the better and the worse. John evolved into my best friend and, wrapping myself
in his world, I lost my core group of friends. We had reached interpersonal commitment. All of my
time belonged to John. We went to events and hung out according to his time frame, with little
consideration for my time. All John needed to say was "no, I don't want to do that," and I
respected his decision. Looking back, I realize how little John respected me. Our relationship grew
in predictability as we learned each other's schedules, emotions, and family habits. Dates always

never involved social bonding beyond our families. Instead, moments of novelty, like rock

Reflection On My English 101 Experience
Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your
mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The
truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in
the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can
explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses.
Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before
taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and
unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I
struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to
the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class
that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the
whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for
navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I
have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in
English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the

For as long as anyone can remember, people and have been judge and have judged others on
various things including appearance. Appearance says a lot who we are individually as well as
collectively. Contrary to what people believe, how we dress or present ourselves conveys who
we are and how we may be, regardless of whether it is correct or not. Appearance can be equally
important as knowledge in the field when it comes to the workplace. Every day we are told to

It may seem shallow to be concerned about your appearance in the workplace but in actuality, it can
be the determining factor in who gets hired and how well one may do on a performance review.
Dressing appropriately can set you apart from others who may be less concerned about projecting
professional image (Gavzer, 2008) It can also guarantee the future of the organization, especially in
this highly competitive business environment (Hanley, 2009).
If a professional looks conveys more attributes, why do we see an increasing movement toward
business casual and all casual attires in the workplace. Many believe the change was influenced by
the boom in the "eBusiness" and "dot.com" along with the economic recession in the 1990's. Some
would like to blame Generation X college graduates for this movement. Others consider the rise in
casual clothing being produced to be an influencing factor in casualness (Kiddie, 2009, Ryan 2010).
By the middle of the 1990s, a majority of businesses had implemented a relaxed look in their
workplace, having one business casual day a week. This has changed with more companies going
casual every day (Cruz, 2009). But what exactly is business casual? It is hard to give this concept a
concrete definition as the rules and regulations of business attire may vary from workplace to
workplace. However, in layman's terms it

Descriptive Essay On A Morning
Mornings just great. Us early birds have the gift of watching the world around us come back to
life after being so tired. We all know most people don't like mornings simply because it interrupts
sleep. Yeah, something you can do when you're dead. I turned to the window delighted to see a
bright gray sky; just one giant cloud covering that asshole of a sun so it can't burn my skin and
give me cancer. Sure, your idea of a beautiful day might include blue skies and fairies, but I never
asked you. Today was.... Friday. Nothing special going on, so I'd have the regular classes.
I threw on a black t–shirt and skinny jeans that were slung over my crappy desk chair and ran my
fingers through my hair to work out any rats while making my way through a dim hallway to the
kitchen. My house is just one big dim hallway with rooms.
"Hey." My mom was already at work in the kitchen as always. She had the same dazed expression on
her face as she did every morning as she did her tedious mom–chores. Every day she had to wash
dishes, do laundry, cook food, pick up stuff around the house, etc.
She set down a plate with a small cinnamon roll drenched in white icing out on the table:"Here, eat
this before you leave."
"Nah."
"You need to eat something for breakfast, it's not good to skip meals." She nagged.
"Says who?"
"Says me. I read somewhere about it; they did quite a few studies on it."
"Hn, Bye." The screen door slammed shut before my mother could finish her pointless lecture. I
wasn't going to be late for school because of a cinnamon roll.
Most kids get their parents to drive them nowadays, but walking is a perfect opportunity for some

trees looming over cracked sidewalks. For the most part, it's a peaceful yet uneventful journey.
Other than dogs occasionally carrying on or people leaving early for work, there are almost no
interruptions.

Looking at my strengths, it is clear that I am a self–starter, team player and good listener. I have the
ability to adapt in diverse cultural working groups. Also, when things do not go as planned, I am
very good to work with what I have. Additionally, I can easily adapt to any situation. In other
words, I am a quick thinker. On the other hand, looking at my weaknesses, I often try to please
everyone around me even though I know this is not always possible. Although this might be true, I
have been working hard on my weaknesses and have improved this weakness by taking a leadership
role when I work in teams and making executive decisions. Also, I tend to focus on only one
project at the time before starting a new one which I consider a weakness when having to work in
a fast pace environment. To counter this weakness, I am consistently doing my best to take on
more valuable work in order to improve my multitasking skills. Finally, if there's one thing I could
change/improve in my personality is always waiting till the last minute to complete work. I do work
great under pressure and in no way, has this stopped me from doing great throughout my academic
career. Although this hasn't negatively affected me since I can cope well with pressure, I would

Growing Up Essays
What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills, getting a job?
Does it mean getting married, having kids, and sprouting gray hair? Is it necessary? Is everyone
capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth the effort? All of these questions are
probably what made Peter Pan decide to never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of
different things to many different people. If we look at the words "growing up", we simply think
of the physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up means
something deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to life and the actions
that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people have...show more content...
They can't just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such mistakes could
include simple things when we are young like hitting your younger sibling, or they could be as
adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to make the mistake in order to be able to
correct it. We look at the mistake we made, for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with
the score. However, we see that we did not receive the grade that was deserved. The other students
all put in long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like this
happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a person who has
grown spiritually into a person with morals will not feel comfortable with this result, and
probably not do it again. That is one form of growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for
the actions that have been taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that
responsibility. In order to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense of right and wrong
which is only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have begun to
see the truth and reality of our situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to truth is heavily involved
with the concept of accepting responsibility because for people to see blame in themselves, they
have to have a clear plane of reality that shows the necessity of a solution from them. The eyes have

  • 1. Online education, while offering clear advantages such as supporting a self–paced learning experience by allowing learning on an on–demand basis rather than a strict class schedule, also has significant drawbacks. Students in an online only course may struggle with structure and content without hands–on instruction, which can help motivate students who otherwise may be distracted or have difficulty working independently. The traditional structure of classroomeducation is effective, but also comes with a set of obstacles, particularly for nontraditional students. The best way to bridge this gap is hybrid education, which combines technology and personal interaction to support efficiency and self–paced learning while keeping students...show more content... In order to fully understand the benefits of the hybrid educational model, it is necessary to discuss some of the benefits and flaws of both online and offline education, as successful hybrid education should combine best practices from both disciplines to create a more effective learning environment. Classroom instruction benefits from time–tested success and is still the dominant educational model, but comes with some negatives, particularly in the digital age. One issue that students in traditional classrooms face is attrition due to boredom and lack of relevancy in education. Some education experts believe that the educational system needs to evolve from a traditional style to a more interactive experience. Derek Bok, former Harvard president, believes that education needs to "move from 'a teacher–oriented system featuring lectures delivered to passive audiences' to a 'learner–centered process in which students become more actively involved in their own education'" in order to reach modern students (qtd. in Friedman and Friedman). While not explicitly stated, online or hybrid education could be used to solve this problem, since the student is forced to take an integral role in managing their own learning. Another significant issue in traditional higher education is retention rate. It is possible that online Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Reflection Paper On Preceptorship Experience Prior to beginning the nursing program the only patient contact that I had was in an outpatient clinic setting and had often thought how great it would be to become a nurse. As my preceptor clinical experience has come to an end, I can being to look back and reflect on my experiences not just over these past few months, but from the beginning at Avalon Care Center my first exposure to a long term care facility. Which at that time had made me question, if nursing is the right career path for me? Since then, I have had many wonderful experiences from being able to watch an open heart surgery for a valve replacement and a total neck resection for throat cancer with, jaw reconstruction with the use of the patient fibula. Still to this day, I...show more content... In addition, I have learned that patient safety is at the forefront of nursing and the ability to think outside of the box. Before I had started the nursing program, if I was asked about patient safety my first thoughts would be, what could I do to the prevent the patient from falling, since then I have come to realize that patient safety encompasses so much more. At last my last clinical we had care of the a gentleman who spoke no English, he would just look at us and smile, If it won't for the use of the interpreter I can see how this patient care would have been affective. Over the course of this preceptorship, I have written a few different journals with the nursing process as my topic, the reason for this is because the nursing process is everywhere and has become a part of my day to day life, not just during my different clinicals over these past couple of years, it has spilled over into work, school work assignments, and home life, as well as. I now find myself assessing everything that needs to accomplish throughout my day and developing a plan of action, setting priorities to works towards their completion. Another topic that I feel is very important for a nurse is professionalism and important in developing a trust with the patients in your care, as well as, to earn the respect of your fellow nurses and other members of the hospital staff. Over these past couple years and I have seen that many of the patients and their families look to their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Importance Of Looking Before You Leap Essay The Importance of Looking Before You Leap Media portrays romantic relationships as a whirlwind of emotions that ends in a happily ever after in the course of a few days; children's movies are a larger perpetrator of this idea. But how accurate is this to real life relationships? Research, including John Van Epp's book "How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk," tells us that a healthy relationship is built on more than the initial emotions we feel. In chapter one of "How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk," Epp discusses the importance of the love–is–blind phenomenon where we either one, don't know how to identify predictors of relationship dissatisfaction or two, become so attached to someone that we minimize predictors in the belief that things will get better. The love–is–blind phenomenon causes discourse between the heart and mind, two things that need to be harmonious in order for a healthy relationship. Epp also discusses the predictors of (dis)satisfaction in order to find a partner that complements us and identify things that could result in potential problems in the relationship. For the first chapter, I found the predictors to be the most interesting point in this chapter. Epp identified five categories that seemed to play a large role in marital satisfaction and they are compatibility potential, relationship skills, patterns from other relationships, family patterns and background, and character and conscience traits. Compatibility potential is the similarities Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I will devise my own business plan which outlines my business proposal and the key aspects, during this I will need to seek good business advice on the necessary steps I will have to make. As I go through the coursework I will show evidence, examples and explain how businesses are set up, what types of businesses there are and their similarities, the kind of targets businesses set for themselves and also the different objectives of different stakeholders. Finance ======= No businesses can be set up without finance. Most people who start their own business underestimate the amount of money they will need to set up. They are often UNCAPITALISED and this causes problems as the business expands. Some businesses have the potential to be highly profitable but fail because they run out of cash at a crucial early stage in the life of the business. So it is very important to work out how much money is needed to start the business and to identify where the money will come from. Identifying the sources of help =============================== Most new businesses don not survive for more than three years of trading. However, their chance of success is much greater if those setting up the business have received help from experts before the launch. Many new businesses turn to Business Link or to their local TEC. They can identify any grants, loans or benefits that are available from government or from bodies like the Prince's Trust. They can also organise training in setting up small businesses that is so often vital to the survival of the business. The pursuit of knowledge continues to be important to me and I feel like I have learned a lot in my college experience so far. My academic journey has shaped the way I look at myself, my moral understandings, and my view of happiness. In recent years, I have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely a creator. I enjoyed making items in high school and earlier, but I have realized in college that it is an essential part of who I am. Furthermore, to be a good creator, one must be a good critic. I believe I have become a better person over the last two years. Or, at least, as good as I will get. I have a lot more respect for other people than I used to. Before, I only surrounded myself with people that I thought would be useful later. It seems so horrible now. I went to a very large high school. People came in and out of my life at a rapid pace. There were several people at my graduation that I had not seen in years. I thought they literally dropped off the face of the Earth or just moved. There was little need to be a good person to people, because you would often never see them again. Here, I no longer have that luxury. I mean, that is good. It is now necessary to have a good relationship with people. I think it has certainly helped to have a group of classmates every year who have a common goal. Another conclusion I have drawn from my last few years is that every person has a moral obligation to be as knowledgeable as possible. My biggest pet peeve is stupid people who think they are smart. We are in the shape we are in today because of these people. I wish people would just admit when they do not know something. I do. I would never be seen entering a conversation about molecular biology and acting like an expert. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful Sky Life washes over those who expect it the least. It seeps into the expanse of space and steals the hope of the young. When I was seven, I began to play with time, innocent and vulnerable. Then life came crashing in and destroyed everything. With water–soaked clothes and tear–streaked cheeks, I returned home with the knowledge that life has no mercy. Life is not fair. Only the salty sting of reality to my beaten ego was my companion. Magnificent, heavenly light filters through the wispy clouds, signifying a new day. The thin clouds slowly drift apart, presenting a beautiful sky above. Speaking out to me, the sky seems to know every one of my thoughts, my dreams, my darkest fears. The sky is but a canvas of light, creating a new picture within seconds. Weaving a story through the delicate clouds, the picture grows beyond the expanse of sky. The colors splay before me, stunning and simple. Pink hues morph into vibrant purples as they blend with the beautiful blues. The glittering stretch of sea shines before my eyes. With every new wave, the light from above whispers promises of riches and sparkling diamonds. The swift breeze that kisses the sea sends the twinkling light back into the air above. The ocean strokes land with calm and reassuring hands, lacing water with sand and lifting seashells in its wake. My heart urges me forward, to walk among the peace, to capture the sweet smell of sea salt. My brain reasons with the rest of my body. • 10. My Reflection On My Experience In My Class My favorite subject throughout my years of school has always been English; I found it to be where I put most of my effort and creativity in my writing. I didn't want to overthink the writing skills I had already because I was told college writing was a "different ball game", so I entered the beginning of my English101 course expecting the unexpected. I made sure to keep the goals I wanted to achieve this semester always in mind; learn new writing techniques, strengthen my sentence mechanic/grammar skills, become a flexible writer, and to enhance my critical thinking skills. Throughout this semester I witness my growth as a student and my eager and dedication to improving my skills in this course. I tested out different approaches that benefited me the most when it came to my writing. In the beginning, I avoided creating an outline for my essay because I viewed it as being extra work; but as my professor taught me the correct way of drafting an outline and the details to include, I found myself relying on the outline while composing my essay. I was able to keep track of important details to include and create a fluent transition all throughout my essay. One habit that I always kept when generating my ideas was to write down any thought I had randomly containing to my essay; doing this kept all my ideas fresh in my mind. After completing my first two essays I realized what my writing weaknesses were I knew I needed assistance. I took advantage of my college Writing Center and got help for my final essays, taking this approach improved the quality of my essays and taught me new ways to avoid my common writing mistakes. Looking back at final essay grades and my professor comments, my writing skills have advanced throughout this semester. My biggest strength was my ability to use supporting details to verify my thesis and integrating the information fluently, "your overall coherence – transitions, emphasis, and introduction of the outside sources is great" my professor comment on Essay 3. Conducting a conclusion is also a strength I've advanced in my writing, summarizing the main idea of my essay and using appeals to create a strong finish. Sleeping and Dreaming Essay Each night without fail our eyes grow heavy and our minds tired, and dreaming we drag ourselves to bed and normally fall asleep quickly and peacefully off to dream land we go. Why is this though? Why do we sleep every night? Why do we awake with dream fresh in our heads? How important is this most basic human routine to our survival? What happens when it is disturbed? Sleeping is extremely important for all mammals, but humans especially. Without sleep we are unable to function properly and at our fullest abilities. When we sleep we grow, and it is an opportunity for us to dream which has many benefits. Sleep is also a way for us to relieve ourselves of stress. It resulted in major leap in what was known about sleeping. The first phase of modern sleep research is roughly considered to be 1928 through 1953 (1). Aside from noticing night and day and clocks our body has its own system to tell us when to sleep and when to wake, our circadian rhythm. The human body naturally runs on a twenty five hour clock, so living on a twenty four hour schedule is often hard on the body because it loses an hour each day. • 12. Me Before You Analysis "Me Before You" is a film adaptation of Jojo Moyes's non–fictional book by the same name; it is considered a Cinderella romance with the controversial topic of suicide. Most fairy tales concludes a happy ending but "Me Before You" tells a whole different story. It is a film about disability and assisted suicide, which is troubling enough, but is made even worse because it used a non–disabled actor in a role of a quadriplegic. The storyline sparks criticism among the disabled and advocates of people with disabilities. In the film, Will Traynor, played by Sam Claflin, became quadriplegic after a traffic accident and is paralyzed from the chest down. • 13. My Reflection On Business It is urgent that the older generation make certain that the younger generation knows the importance of EI and how it greatly will affect the changes in occupational positions. Reflections are your takeaway from the chapter readings. Same way you have been posting your weekly chapter discussions. Keep it short and sweet. A typical reflection paper (ALL chapters included) should be between 300 and 700 words long. In Chapter one I learned about business and different sections of the business. I also Learned on how to prepare for business classes, what to look for and the main purpose of the class. How This information will help me now and later on in life with occupation decisions and narrow down what area of business I would like to work in. Also now that I know somewhat how to prepare before my business classes with reading the chapters before class it will be easier to enter my second–semester class business classes. • 14. Relationship Narrative: Personal Narrative Essay The fairy tales say that once upon a time a girl met a boy; they fell in love, and lived happily ever after. Reality is not that simple. Long–term relationships force couples to get to know each other, involve themselves in each others' worlds, fight through the hard times, and eventually develop deeper connections through distinctive stages of Knapp's relationship model. Although I have dated the same person for over two years, the stages of our communication make it seem as though I am now dating a different person following dissolution and subsequent repair. However, even the most exhilarating of roller coaster rides develop through a combination of ups and downs, much like the stages of a relationship. Initial contact came the...show more content... After our relationship moved beyond involvement, his protective instincts overpowered everything. I actually welcomed this protection as a sign of his caring for me since I always wanted a guy to protect me from conflict, just like in the movies. However, this overprotection stifled me and made me feel guilty whenever my communications with another guy made John jealous and angry. He tested my feelings for him by making me feel guilty about even looking in the direction of other guys. At the time, I ignored his jealousy because my strong feelings for him overshadowed my own needs as an individual. Looking back, I realize our involvement actually intensified, for the better and the worse. John evolved into my best friend and, wrapping myself in his world, I lost my core group of friends. We had reached interpersonal commitment. All of my time belonged to John. We went to events and hung out according to his time frame, with little consideration for my time. All John needed to say was "no, I don't want to do that," and I respected his decision. Looking back, I realize how little John respected me. Our relationship grew in predictability as we learned each other's schedules, emotions, and family habits. Dates always went the same way, involving dinner with his family followed by a rented movie. Our interactions never involved social bonding beyond our families. Instead, moments of novelty, like rock Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Reflection On My English 101 Experience Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Personal Manifesto Research Paper Personal Manifesto Somebody once told me it is okay to be average as long as you are a good person. Life is short, do as many things as you can to live a happy life and do all the things you aspire to do before time runs out. One evening while I was on vacation visiting my grandparents we were sitting around the dinner table eating a homemade meal made by my grandma. It was my mom, my sister, my foreign exchange student, two of my good friends, and I all eating dinner together. Dinner had come to an end and one of my friends and I were still sitting at the table with my grandpa. He has always been a very inspirational person in my life and most of the things he says mean a lot and really make me think. There was one thing my grandpa told...show more content... Even being an average person can be very difficult. If you look at a large amount of people in this world, they are average or below average in most things they do. No one can be good at everything, so don't ever think you have to be. Feeling pressured to be great at everything is one thing no one should ever have to go through. All it seems to do is tear down people's' self esteem creating more reserved and quiet people. Life is hard, and if it were meant to be easy, everyone would be good at everything and the majority of things would be meaningless. So, what would be the point of living a meaningless life? • 18. Appearance Essays For as long as anyone can remember, people and have been judge and have judged others on various things including appearance. Appearance says a lot who we are individually as well as collectively. Contrary to what people believe, how we dress or present ourselves conveys who we are and how we may be, regardless of whether it is correct or not. Appearance can be equally important as knowledge in the field when it comes to the workplace. Every day we are told to dress the part, to convey the proper message but what part are we exactly dressing for and what are we trying to convey? This idea is commonly confusing as jobs nowadays are now becoming more lenient with what is tolerated or acceptable for dress codes in the workplace. Things that...show more content... It may seem shallow to be concerned about your appearance in the workplace but in actuality, it can be the determining factor in who gets hired and how well one may do on a performance review. Dressing appropriately can set you apart from others who may be less concerned about projecting professional image (Gavzer, 2008) It can also guarantee the future of the organization, especially in this highly competitive business environment (Hanley, 2009). If a professional looks conveys more attributes, why do we see an increasing movement toward business casual and all casual attires in the workplace. Many believe the change was influenced by the boom in the "eBusiness" and "dot.com" along with the economic recession in the 1990's. Some would like to blame Generation X college graduates for this movement. Others consider the rise in casual clothing being produced to be an influencing factor in casualness (Kiddie, 2009, Ryan 2010). By the middle of the 1990s, a majority of businesses had implemented a relaxed look in their workplace, having one business casual day a week. This has changed with more companies going casual every day (Cruz, 2009). But what exactly is business casual? It is hard to give this concept a concrete definition as the rules and regulations of business attire may vary from workplace to workplace. However, in layman's terms it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Descriptive Essay On A Morning Mornings just great. Us early birds have the gift of watching the world around us come back to life after being so tired. We all know most people don't like mornings simply because it interrupts sleep. Yeah, something you can do when you're dead. I turned to the window delighted to see a bright gray sky; just one giant cloud covering that asshole of a sun so it can't burn my skin and give me cancer. Sure, your idea of a beautiful day might include blue skies and fairies, but I never asked you. Today was.... Friday. Nothing special going on, so I'd have the regular classes. I threw on a black t–shirt and skinny jeans that were slung over my crappy desk chair and ran my fingers through my hair to work out any rats while making my way through a dim hallway to the kitchen. My house is just one big dim hallway with rooms. "Hey." My mom was already at work in the kitchen as always. She had the same dazed expression on her face as she did every morning as she did her tedious mom–chores. Every day she had to wash dishes, do laundry, cook food, pick up stuff around the house, etc. She set down a plate with a small cinnamon roll drenched in white icing out on the table:"Here, eat this before you leave." "Nah." "You need to eat something for breakfast, it's not good to skip meals." She nagged. "Says who?" "Says me. I read somewhere about it; they did quite a few studies on it." "Hn, Bye." The screen door slammed shut before my mother could finish her pointless lecture. I wasn't going to be late for school because of a cinnamon roll. Most kids get their parents to drive them nowadays, but walking is a perfect opportunity for some alone–time. People can just come find and interrupt my reveries even in my own home, but when I walk, I'm traveling, and no one's going to try and catch up to me. Just thoughts, music, and burly trees looming over cracked sidewalks. For the most part, it's a peaceful yet uneventful journey. Other than dogs occasionally carrying on or people leaving early for work, there are almost no interruptions. Chg–chg–chg–chg. I grinned at the sound of a train beginning to rumble across rickety, old railroad tracks. Somehow, I couldn't help but smile during moments like these. Soon the train Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Shawn Reflecting on the leadership & entrepreneurship class, I will always keep in mind the personality exercise we completed in class since it allowed me to understand my strengths and weaknesses in a business setting as well as in life. After completing the personality test, I was assigned the "ENTP" behavior. This personality expressed characteristics that I can definitely see within me. These include; curious, challenging, strategic, analytical, adaptive, creative and outspoken. Now looking at the stressors, I definitely agree with some of them. These include; deadlines, stubbornness, focusing on personal problems and too many details. Looking at my strengths, it is clear that I am a self–starter, team player and good listener. I have the ability to adapt in diverse cultural working groups. Also, when things do not go as planned, I am very good to work with what I have. Additionally, I can easily adapt to any situation. In other words, I am a quick thinker. On the other hand, looking at my weaknesses, I often try to please everyone around me even though I know this is not always possible. Although this might be true, I have been working hard on my weaknesses and have improved this weakness by taking a leadership role when I work in teams and making executive decisions. Also, I tend to focus on only one project at the time before starting a new one which I consider a weakness when having to work in a fast pace environment. To counter this weakness, I am consistently doing my best to take on more valuable work in order to improve my multitasking skills. Finally, if there's one thing I could change/improve in my personality is always waiting till the last minute to complete work. I do work great under pressure and in no way, has this stopped me from doing great throughout my academic career. Although this hasn't negatively affected me since I can cope well with pressure, I would honestly Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Growing Up Essays What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills, getting a job? Does it mean getting married, having kids, and sprouting gray hair? Is it necessary? Is everyone capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth the effort? All of these questions are probably what made Peter Pan decide to never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of different things to many different people. If we look at the words "growing up", we simply think of the physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up means something deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to life and the actions that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people have...show more content... They can't just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such mistakes could include simple things when we are young like hitting your younger sibling, or they could be as adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to make the mistake in order to be able to correct it. We look at the mistake we made, for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with the score. However, we see that we did not receive the grade that was deserved. The other students all put in long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like this happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a person who has grown spiritually into a person with morals will not feel comfortable with this result, and probably not do it again. That is one form of growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for the actions that have been taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that responsibility. In order to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense of right and wrong which is only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have begun to see the truth and reality of our situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to truth is heavily involved with the concept of accepting responsibility because for people to see blame in themselves, they have to have a clear plane of reality that shows the necessity of a solution from them. The eyes have to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
