Naviance Family Connection reached:

Naviance is the first interface for students to
experience a college campus.
College/university websites are unique in how
they present their admissions criteria, academic
offerings, campus visit options, and scholarship
information.
Naviance provides students with a uniformed
approach to searching for and comparing
colleges/universities.

Making Your College Profile Work for You
To utilize your profile as a robust marketing tool:
Ensure all admissions counselors’ contact information is
updated regularly
Provide updated information that would draw prospective
students in, such as:
New Scholarships, Academic Programs or Majors, and
Internship/Coop opportunities
Special Accolades or Awards for your college, particular
programs, academic departments, and faculty

Changes to admissions requirements for students
interested in specialized programs of study, including
Fine Arts, Nursing, and Engineering
Changes in admissions and financial aid deadlines
Housing updates such as new residences and off-
campus student housing availability and new meal plan

Send a MS Word document containing all updates to the
high school counselors in your assigned territories

Update KeyFacts more frequently than twice per year
Provide counselors in your territory with a word document
listing all admissions updates to be uploaded
Consider working with the Naviance Higher Education
Division to create a more robust Enhanced Profile, which
offers several value-added marketing tools
Utilize no cost opportunities such as updating KeyFacts as
frequently as you wish, and provide the National Center for
Education Statistics (NCES) and Integrated Postsecondary
Education Data System (IPEDS with the most accurate data

Consider an Enhanced Profile
While you may not have an Enhanced Profile, you are
still afforded the same access as other
colleges/universities in terms of college searches.
With an Enhanced Profile, your college/university can
take advantage of several features which will draw in the
college bound student, and his/her parents, as well as
counselors.

How We Educate our Students and Parents
Each month we hold parent workshops on topics such as:
College planning
Scholarships/Financial Aid
Course planning
NCAA considerations for Student-Athletes
We hold two workshops (one in fall and spring) dedicated
solely to provide a tutorial for parents and students on how
to utilize Naviance throughout the college planning process
