Top News :
• Dhanlaxmi Bank is planning to raise upto Rs 233 crore through preferential issue . The board of directors of the bank has approved to offer,
issue, and allot 5,96,50,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 29 per share aggregating to an amount of Rs 2,32,63,50,000 through
preferential allotment .
• Aptech has bagged a contract with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), Government of Afghanistan, for IT skill
building training in the country.
• Shalimar Paints hiked prices of industrial paints and decorative products last month by 2-3 percent, taking total FY14 price hike to 5-7 percent
depending upon the product category
• TCS announces partnership with Microsoft Business Solutions . TCS to support product development for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, focusing on
delivering innovative marketing applications across platforms.
• NHPC has informed that Unit-2 of Parbati-III H.E. Project has been synchronized with grid at 06:22 hours on February 27, 2014.
• Essar Telecom is in talks to sell its Kenya business to Indian telecom major Airtel and Kenya's leading operator Safaricom for about USD 100
million. This is second acquisition of Airtel within a month of it acquiring business and assets of Mumbai base Loop Mobile for about Rs 700 crore.
• Finance ministry is likely to take the PSU ETF as well as the Axis Bank stake sale and the IOC cross holding in the next two weeks.The
government is offloading a 10 percent stake in Axis Bank which forms part of its SUUTI portfolio and this will be via a block deal.
• Tata Motors -owned Jaguar Land Rover plans to launch a new mid-sized sports sedan, Jaguar XE, next year across global markets. The sedan,
whose global roll out will begin in 2015, will be the first user of the 'Ingenium' engines in four-cylinder two-litre petrol and diesel variants.
• U.K. construction purchasing managers' index fell to a seasonally adjusted 62.6 last month from a reading of 64.6 in January. Economists had
expected the index to ease down to 63.0 in February.
• Eurostat said that its producer price index eased down by a seasonally adjusted 0.3% in January, compared to expectations for a 0.1% decline.
Producer prices inched up 0.2% in December.
• The Reserve Bank of Australia held its cash rate steady at a record low 2.5% as expected, indicating it continues to see a period of stability on
monetary policy.
• Spain’s Employment Ministry said the number of unemployed people fell by a seasonally adjusted 1,900 last month, compared to expectations
for an increase of 74,200. The number of unemployed people rose by 113,100 in January
