1. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
“If you don’t build your Dream, someone else will hire you to help them buildtheir’s”
Dhirubhai Ambani
I have always had a great interest in drawing and colouring, where in later I wanted to
develop the ideas and concepts into Sketching and Designing.
I was ambitious in converting the environment around me to a more cheerful and a beautiful
place to live and enjoy.
When I completed my schooling and college, I always wanted to comprehend in the field of
Design. Due to unavoidable reasons I was pushed into Engineering where in I had to
complete my graduation in Mechanical Engineering in the year 2010 from KSInstitute of
Technology.
My passion to Design & sketching broadened when I started helping out my friends in their
projects and sketches in the field of Architecture, this actually started influencing me
gradually in the field of Interior Designing.
After my graduation I had to continue working in order to support my family, and then
started working as a Service Engineer in Toyota Dealership where in I worked for 11 months.
Perhaps when a person is engaged in what his keen interests are, he will blossom and never
feel tired; instead he would feel motivated and have an enriching experience.
Based on this I decided to pursue in the field of Design and decided to study further. Since I
did not have a study background for specializing in Interior Design, I decided to have work
experience in Design and hence joined Featherlite as a Designer. In my 20 months of work at
Featherlite, I have worked on both government and private projects. The company helped me
develop my designing skills, conceptualization, team work, direct interaction with clients and
associates. The experience in the company made me very interested in creatively applying
ideas in projects. Meanwhile to regulate my interesttowards Interior Design I joined a part
time course for Interior Designing in IDEA.
All these experiences have a great impact on me, sparking my intention of studying abroad to
learn more in-depth contemporary International Design conceptions. My professional
experience has brought me in contact with people from business, Architecture, finance, real
estate, technicians & engineers, legal consultants and has made me understand the needs of
this industry. This Work Experience has boosted my self-confidence and helped me to be an
independent person and a better human being.
The course Product + Space MA in your University is which, I thought will be a Design
discipline which can connect my Education Qualification and my professional experience.
Particularly overseas students have been applying to UK Universities to pursue their studies
for many years and it feels like home in the cosmopolitan environment. An opportunity to
improve my self-prospects in English speaking countries.
2. Kingston University, I believe the program is a distillation of all the core skills and the
knowledge sets that will be required to handle global businesses. The opportunity to process
past experiences and new knowledge with peers from multiple backgrounds in a mature
design environment like that of London has always been the focus of this pursuit.
In the present Global business situations could be exhilarating, sometimes even discouraging,
but will always be challenging. These challenges, I should be able to navigate with the
knowledge and experience that I will gain across the duration of the program.Kingston
University, I know, will provide a passion oriented environment that will fuel my curiosity.
At this point of time I feel confident enough where in given a chance I would prove myself in
the field of Design. I am looking for a right pathway where I can succeed in building my
dream, as a Designer.
I am connecting the “DOTS”, i.e., life experiences – To have a better future.
