2. Future trends and milestones relevant to the LDCs
The year 2020 and beyond present many developments that
would be important to consider in future support to the LDCs.
Among them are:
❑ Submission of updated NDCs by all Parties by 2020;
❑ Commencement of $100 billion per annuum climate finance goal;
❑ Commencement of activities towards the first global stocktake;
❑ 10 years remaining to deliver on the 2030 Agenda;
❑ Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework;
❑ The 5th United Nation LDC conference in 2021 to define the
programme of action for the next decade;
❑ Growing number of graduating LDCs;
❑ LDCs vision 2050 and initiatives: LIFE-AR, LUCCC, REEEI.
