2. DRAW SOMETHING
The world doesn’t care about your ‘idea’,
we only care that you did something about
it. The more you create, the faster you learn
what works and what is just more noise
4. TECH AIN’T OVER
Despite the douchebags & talk of the bubble bursting...
The opportunity to innovate just keeps growing and shifting.
Focus on the nuanced experience wherever possible
5. OPEN YOUR EYES
Inspiration is everywhere in Austin. EVERYWHERE!
6. GET REAL
The best things at a tech conference
are rarely tech related.
Remind yourself what it’s like to be a
consumer by testing some of your
ideas offline. KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD!
7. STAY CHARGED
Dual output Mophie Juice Pack. Multi-Vitamins, sleep
& WholeFoods FTW. Oh, and international adapters
are a great way to make friends on the road
HINT TO BRANDS: Solve my problems, let me love you
8. GET COMFORTABLE
Whether you’re applying to work at a local
bikini bar or rushing to yet another talk about
applying anarchist principles to quantum
computing, you’ll need some quality footwear.
9. GET HIGH
Or get upside down. SXSW is designed to
change your perspective, so just let go... Man
10. STAND ASIDE
Forget the backseat bandits, at SXSW it’s the door dwellers
who win. Stay close to the exit in case you suddenly realise
you’re in the wrong talk... Or just need another taco
11. BE PREPARED
Read blogs. Listen to locals. RSVP to everything.
But most importantly, book your appointments ahead of
time... Often the people you most want to see or speak
to in person are only in town for a day or two
12. THINK WAY,
WAY BIGGER
Solving everyday problems is pretty cool, but you
know what’s really cool? Solving things nobody
is even thinking about yet [ solveforx.com ]
13. BAR-HOP & WORKSHOP
The only thing better than a keynote by Elon Musk
is a random conversation with someone who was
in the audience of another talk you missed.
Buy them a round and yearn to learn
