6. Content Style Presentation EXTRACT PURE CONTENT Define the content using XML or <content> defined html. For example <content=“chapter1”> <content=“illustration#001”> This can be done by hand or via an export from Word. No inline html apart from Bold, Italic, Paragraph, Heading 1-7, etc.. Look and feel of website is CSS controlled. CSS file is external to content Can be styled to suit any identity, (university, corporate etc..) Content can be re-purposed via css for any delivery system, Print, PDA, Mobile, WebTV etc.. Content is modular and self contained to allow inclusion into other programmes, courses and LMS systems Here Chapter 1 of the website has been included into Blackboard as a Course Document. See how the css style matches the BB environment.
