2. Reminder: What is RPI Planner?
• Course/schedule planning tool, similar in function
to RPI Scheduler
• RPI Planner helps students generally plan out an
entire plan of study during enrollment at RPI
o Scheduler which handles only a single semester
• Leverages requirements from the CAPP report
• Developed by previous RCOS students, primarily
Eric Allen

3. Planned Additions
• Flexibility is key (June and July)
o Multiple degree program
o Number of courses/credits per semester
o Number of semesters in the plan
• More diversity (July and August)
o Current degrees to select from are very limited
o Course database is not complete

7. More Additions
• Looking at potential features, the two that stand out
to me are completing the course database and
completing the degree database
• Considering the widely different standards for
degrees, creating a parser to grab courses from an
RPI database or the online catalog seems the more
reasonable option
• Any other suggestions to make the application more
usable or flexible would be appreciated

• July 29: Fix any remaining glitches, start course catalog
parser
• August 5: Course catalog parser, additional flexibility /
usability features
• August 12: Course catalog parser, additional flexibility /
usability features
