9 Things I've Learned about Home Time Management and Cooking When it comes to my home time management and cooking. I've probably made all the mistakes everyone else makes such as: • Waiting until the last minute to plan dinner • Fast food drive-through • Ordering delivery • Serving junk food from the freezer • Walking zombie-like through the grocery store right before dinner Yep… I've been there, done that, and gained those pounds and hyperactive children from it. But then I decided to I was tired of it. I knew there must be a simpler way to live and little by little I gained experience in all the things that made my life so much easier. So I decided to change my life so that the question of what was for dinner was one of the first questions I had answered for that day. Unbelievable, it made the whole rest of the day much less mentally taxing. 1. Making and using meal plans 2. Cooking ahead on the weekend 3. Mixing extra when making meatloaf, spaghetti sauce, or chili 4. Putting leftovers in the freezer 5. Reusing in a different dish 6. Making salads easy by cutting up everything before putting in the fridge 7. Teaching kids to cook early in life 8. Then giving those kids cooking responsibility 9. Enlisting the aid of your spouse If you are looking for something that will make life easier then I promise if you'll spend just a little time getting this area under control you'll reap the benefits for years and years to come. Even if you choose to tackle only one topic per month then in less than a year you'd have this area of your life completely changed and be ready to tackle something else. Just think… if you'd started this 9 months ago you'd have a changed life right now. 2. I've learned that there is nothing shameful about making
mistakes… as long as you learn and grow from them.
Such is the case when it comes to my home time
management and cooking.

5. But, it wasn't just a simpler life I craved; it went
much deeper than that.
I wanted a sense of accomplishment, a feeling
of success, and an image of competency in
the face of my children.
I didn't want to feel like a bumbling unprepared
idiot when the question came up "Hey mom,
what's for dinner"?

6. It was… I finally realized… a question that could
be expected day after day, month after month,
and year after year.
It didn't matter how I felt and it didn't matter what
else I had going on in my life.
That was one question I could always count on
having to answer.

7. So I decided to change my life so that the question of what
was for dinner was one of the first questions I had
answered for that day.
Unbelievable, it made the whole rest of the day much less
mentally taxing. (That just showed how much it had
previously taxed my brain.)
Seriously, it had always had a small niggling space in my
brain occupying precious resources that couldn't be
redirected until I'd answered that question and freed up the
resource.

8. So now I pass on both what I've learned from
experience and how I put that experience into
practical use.
