Addition is when you add 2 or more digits
together to make 1 big number.

Subtraction is when you take away 1 digit from another digit to make a smaller

Multiplication is when you take 1 digit and repeat it as
many times as the other number, like for example 9 x
5, 9 columns of 5 or 5 columns of nine.

Division is when you split numbers into groups
to find the answer.
