In Part 2, Depth Study The USA, 1919–1941, answer Question 4 and one other
question.

‘I’m sorry, but the Supreme Court says I must chuck you back again’.

SOURCE D
The New Deal is an attempt to take money away from those who have been careful with
it. This is money that they have been able to save over many years. Once taken away it
would be given to those people who have not been as careful with their earnings. The
New Deal will destroy any thoughts of the need to save money for times of difficulty. This
will discourage people from working hard and give money to those who do nothing.

[10] 3 (a) Describe how Saddam Hussein treated different groups within Iraqi society. [4] (b) Explain why the issue of ‘weapons of mass destruction’ was important in relation to Iraq. Once taken away it would be given to those people who have not been as careful with their earnings. The New Deal will destroy any thoughts of the need to save money for times of difficulty. This will discourage people from working hard and give money to those who do nothing. A Republican opponent of the New Deal speaking in 1935. 4 (a) Study Source B. [10] 6 (a) Describe what happened to the Bonus Marchers. [4] (b) Explain the reasons for the Wall Street Crash in 1929.
