Final Project Folio Draft
June 2009
The following task is issued to pupils in preparation for their S4 Final Project. You should consider
researching a variety of sources including the Internet, magazines and shops to help you in your
project.
The final assessment for the course is broken down into 3 main areas…
1. A Final Exam in May of 2010 (One third of overall mark).
2. A Final Folio (One third of overall mark).
3. A Final Project to be made in 20 hours (One third of overall mark).
TASK. (Final Project Brief)
You have to produce an object that could be used to either decorate a garden or display objects within a
garden. It must be fit for use in its environment, appeal to a target user and be made from resources
available within the technical department. If you do not have a garden, you may consider producing
and donating an item to the John Paul Academy School Garden.
Time 20hrs.
To be able to begin work on this project you must construct a satisfactory project folio, which should
contain the following areas as a starting point…
1. Problem/Brief Page
2. 2. Initial/Existing research area
3. Analysis/Research area (Materials, Joints, Processes etc)
4. Concept or Ideas page(s)
5. Development of ideas page(s)
6. Final Idea Page
7. Working Drawing (Including isometric/perspective drawing)
8. Cutting List
The remainder of the folio will be produced as you progress with your project and a full draft
copy is expected before 20 December 2009.

NOTE: Work must be produced in folio style using colour and a theme or style for layout of pages.
Graffiti on work or names not written using the correct format will not be accepted.
