3. 1. WHAT ARE THE ORIGINS OF THE SARDANA?
 The origins of the Sardana is
unknown. But historians believe that its origins are
very old. They say that the origins can be
found in the Roman culture The Sardanas
characteristics that are found in
the Greek culture. But although known to be
very old, not yet known how it started. But recent
studies show that the word ‘’Sardana’’ from the
Latin word ‘’Cerretana’’ referring to the village
Cerdanya (Girona).
