• South Africa was founded by Jan van Riebeeck
  when he landed in 1652.
• It was originally a port for ships to re-supply.
National Language
• South Africa has many tribal groups with different
  languages making it very diverse.
• All languages highlighted in red are the main
  languages.

• Xhosa
• Zulu
• Setswana
Physical Environment in South Africa
• South Africa’s environment is Savannah grassland
  with deserts in the north.

• South Africa is located at the bottom of Africa

• Minerals and Ores
• Timber
• Agriculture
Current South African Government
• South Africa is currently a constitutional democracy.
• In 1994 the former Apartheid system was
  overthrown and a new government was set in place.
