How I Became an Ironman
- 1. My name is Morgan…
- 2. And this is the story of how… I became an Ironman (ole!)
- 3. I always dreamed of being an Ironman…
- 5. I did some Marathons…
- 6. Then I started doing triathlons…
- 7. And that was pretty hard…
- 8. But I made some friends…
- 9. Called the SoCal Collective
- 10. And someone said… Hey, let’s train for Ironman Wisconsin
- 11. So we signed up…
- 12. And collectively shut down active.com for a few days… (sorry active.com!)
- 13. I blame these guys!!!
- 14. Training was really hard…
- 15. … REALLY hard
- 16. And I was always hungry!
- 17. One year later…
- 18. … we went to Madison.
- 19. Aren’t we a good looking bunch?
- 20. I packed my bags
- 21. And racked my bike… (Black Dynamite)
- 22. Did some last minute carb loading
- 23. And the next thing you knew we were at the start line…
- 24. (That’s me, freaking out…)
- 25. Don’t we look calm…
- 26. So calm…
- 27. NOT CALM!!!
- 28. ME
- 29. Boy was I glad to be done with that…
- 30. Whoa whoa whoa. We have to run up WHAT?!
- 31. NO problem Ironman Wisconsin!
- 32. I picked up my transition bag…
- 33. And ran to change… (Sorry, this is a G-rated presentation)
- 34. Time to bike!
- 35. The course was pretty…
- 36. And I made some friends…
- 37. At some points I didn’t feel great…
- 38. I would rather be here…
- 39. Or here…
- 40. But I was here…
- 41. But then I saw my mom! Mom and Aubrie! Me!
- 42. And I was so happy!
- 43. Hi mom!!
- 44. So I kept my eye on the prize!
- 45. (prize)
- 46. And before I knew it, I was on my way back to Madison.
- 47. And started to run
- 48. And run…
- 49. For 26.2 miles…
- 50. ouch
- 51. But then I caught up to Nate! (he’s my boyfriend)
- 52. And we were so happy!
- 53. We saw our friends… Aubrie Mama Barilka
- 54. Did I mention Aubrie and Robin GOT MARRIED LAST WEEKEND!!
- 55. (we really love them)
- 56. … and we made some new friends too
- 57. And even saw some teammates!
- 58. We were having a great time
- 59. Really great time… I don’t know who that is, but she was probably having a pretty good time too
- 60. And after 12 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds…
- 61. THIS HAPPENED!!
- 62. They gave me one of these
- 63. And I got to hug my mom
- 64. And all our teammates!
- 65. We were so happy (and pretty hungry)
- 66. And I was feeling good!
- 67. Really good!
