1) Systems Improvement:This projectimprovedthe resilience of Oracle databasesthat run on more than
a thousandservers.Ledstrategyand enterprise-wide rolloutof the solutionafterexecutive level review
and approval of the project at HP and Sabre Holdings.
Results: Thisprojectbroughtin revenue of $500K to HP, and it significantlyimprovedthe overall Service
Delivery and reduced outages that cost the client and HP several millions of dollars.
2) Systems Optimization: Managed a project that installed a software from EMC that reduces load on the
networkandimprovesStorage arrayutilization.Ledstrategyandenterprise-wide rolloutof the software
after executive level review and approval of the project at HP and Sabre Holdings.
Results: This$250K projectsavedthe client$1.4M in extraStorage arrays theywill nothave to purchase
as a result of better Storage utilization.
3) Load Balancing: Managed several projects to balance load between SAN and NAS arrays.
Results: Improved the consistency and load across the storage arrays. The last load balancing project
between the Nearline (Data Domain) NAS arrays was completed within 60% of the allocated budget of
$250K.
3. 4) SystemMigrations: Project-managedseveral mediumto large-scale initiativesinvolvingthe transitionof
storage allocations for a variety of servers from legacy to new SAN/NAS arrays and Cisco/McData
switches.
Results: Achieved seamless migrations that were transparent to the client’s end Airline customers;
accomplished with no unscheduled downtime and delivered within the allocated budget.
5) Storage Code Upgrades: Led several micro-code upgrade projects that required coordination between
the vendor, client and several cross-functional HP teams.
Results: Ensured defect-free releases through careful planning, testing and QA efforts.
6) Storage Installations:Managedinstallationsofseveral SAN arraysfromEMCand3PAR.AlsoinstalledNAS
arrays and Cisco switches.
Results:Alwaysmade the equipmentgoonline onthe planneddate.The T and V-SeriesSAN arraysfrom
3PAR were the firstonesthatwere installedforthe Sabre account,sothe installationwasverycomplex.
However,the installationtargetdateswere metthroughcareful planningandcoordinationwiththe
Network,Firewall andStorage teams.
4. Prior Experience
HEWLETT PACKARDENTERPRISE(Tulsa,OK), TECHNOLOGYCONSULTANTIII, 2006 to 2009
- Supported several mission critical applications that ran on hundreds of servers with hands-on
experience with technologies ranging from UNIX, LDAP, Java, Middleware, Oracle and MySQL
databases.
- Installed application software upgrades.
- Continuously improved application monitoring by writing UNIX shell scripts that were used by the
applications and also by the CA monitoring agents.
- Trained Tier I & II staff on troubleshooting, monitoring and escalation procedures.
