- 3. This activity also gives you a
change to view a variety of birds
outside your home. Maintain a
journal and make notes of all the
types of birds that come to the
feeder.
If you do not know the
names of these birds, you
can always draw a picture
of it, or use a bird guide for
your reference. Ensure that
the bird feeder never goes
empty, refilling it every
time the food content is
low.

- 4. To start with, rinse the empty
cardboard milk carton with water
and by using scissors, cut a hole at
the side of the carton. Ensure that
the hole is big enough so that the
bird can sit inside the carton and eat
food. Make sure that the hole is not
too big otherwise the bird feeder
would remain a bit
unstable after hanging it.

Your next step would be to punch a
hole at the top of the bird feeder and
put a string through it. Once the
string is through, tie the string into a
knot. Fill the carton with a mix of
food. Hang the carton on a tree
branch and wait for the birds to come
and enjoy their snack.
