3. CORPORATE OVERVIEW
As a leading Woven / Knit ready-made
garments facility (a vertical Knit composite),
Benetex Industries Ltd. (BIL), a public limited
company has established itself in Bangladesh as
a prominent supplier of both knit fabrics and
knit and woven garments.
In 1992, the company first started as a
private limited company and step by step,
in 1997- after several expansions and joint
ventures, the company established a public
limited company. Currently, over 8,000

The Board of Directors include representation of several domestic and internationally renowned
institutions that have invested capital in BIL because of the reputation and most importantly for the
potential in the textile business in the region.
BIL’s corporate character is reflected in its distinguished multinational team of shareholders such as
Industrial Promotion Development company (co-financed by Commonwealth Development Corporation,
CDC), German Investment and Development Company (DEG), Abu-Dhabi Fund for Development
(UBICO) & Local group of Companies. The company has invested over US$ 20 million as projects cost
and US$ 12 million as working capital.
