2. About Mr. Walters
n Graduated from the University of Delaware with a
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical
Education
n Currently enrolled in the Masters of Educational
Technology at UD
n Coached Cross Country and Track for 10 years

3. About Physical
Education
n Effort Based (using Polar Heart Rate Monitors)
n Fitness Based Lessons (focus on keeping an
elevated heart rate for at least 20 minutes)
n Flexible (students have some flexibility in the
activities they choose)
n Life Long Skills (hopefully these skills with
become healthy, life-long habits)

4. About Middle School
Health
n Class meets once per week (Wednesday)
n Topics include physical fitness, nutrition, safety
and first aid, drug use prevention and consumer
education

5. About High School
Health
n This 1/2 credit class (1/2 year long)
n Required for High School Graduation
n Topics include human body systems, first aid,
nutrition, drug use prevention, and sexuality
n Students will maintain an online eportfolio of their
work, which will count towards their final exam
grade

6. About Computer Skills
n Students will maintain an online eportfolio
demonstrating their computer skills
n Students work at their own pace to complete
lessons and assignments
n Lessons are video based. Students can watch a
video multiple times if needed
n All students have a Google Apps account and
email address
