in the school library
2. Use Gale PowerSearch database to locate
relevant biographical information

4. Limit by school
5. Click Search Everything

7. Remember to type last name comma first
name! This works best in many types of
searches.

10. Take about 1 minute to talk with the person
next to you about the following questions.
Write brief answers in your notes.

using the Internet or a database for this
project?
1. What are the advantages of using an online
sources rather than a book?

accomplishments, then moves to focusing on each
stage of his life in longer sections.

subheadings
to find
sections on
each part of
a person’s
life

19. Also try magazine articles, but remember that it’s
helpful to limit by subject and article type (biography)

20.  Turn to the person next to you. Figure out
whose birthday happens first this year.
 The person with the first birthday will explain
to the other how to find a biographical article
in Gale PowerSearch or how to find a library
book
 Describe at least 4 steps. You may use your
notes (letter B for books, D for databases)
