When I was twelve years old, I lost my cousin to AIDS. Though, I felt sad and helpless at the time, I vowed that someday I would do something about it. Every year HIV is responsible for about nine times as many lives as were killed by the Haiti earthquake. I started Medwiser as a nonprofit organization where caring individuals could find the solutions necessary to stop not only the infection of thousands of infants, but also stop the infection of millions of children, youth, and adults around the world.
