Backcasting… begin with the end in mind.. = Vision and objectives inform the plan Did this nice dinner start with an evaluation of how the lettuce was grown? Was there an analysis of the emissions related to the compact fluorescent lights and local transport to attend the meal? No.. What do we think? We consider who is coming.. And what they might like. And we think about where we can find those things.. Who can help us? All with a goal of having the dinner be a great experience. These are people who are special to us. .. How can we have this desired outcome? Will we achieve the outcome by using child labor? Or by going broke it creating the dinner? Or by cleaning the house with toxic chemicals?

In anticipation of COP15 in Copenhagen, Joanna Christensen, project designer for the World Business Summit on Climate Change, was having trouble getting engagement from the main conference venue to support sustainable event practices. Note: Sustainability was fundamental to the success of the program. How to engage this stakeholder? Solution=Collaboration.. The result was that the venue is now a champion of sustainability and supports planners with green meeting practices
