Notas do Editor

  1. Good morning or good afternoon depending on what time zone you are in and welcome to StrikeIron’s June Webinar. Today we will be discussing our Salesforce.com products and how they apply to your data management activities. I am Jay Pitzer and I am the Senior CRM Product Manager here at StrikeIron.
  2. Today’s Agenda will cover: Data management issues that all SFDC admins deal with on a daily basis. Who these data issues impact within the business. And finally how to achieve data quality standards using StrikeIron solutionsThis is a good time to check to make sure your phones are on mute.
  3. Analysts name bad data as one of the top 3 reasons for CRM failure.15 to 20 percent of business’ data is bad or outdated. Customers I speak to confirm that it is probably higher.Bad data issues can be grouped into many buckets. Data duplication – multiple records in Leads and Contacts Incomplete data – are you missing information on a Contact or Acct? city, zip, or need zip Plus4 Accuracy of data - do your billing and shipping addresses match against USPS standards? are your emails valid? These are the types of issues we are consistently up against with our CRM systems. If the data is not clean, who does it impact. Everyone! Marketing uses the shipping address to send collateral, if 15% of the addresses are inaccurate & marketing does 4 mailings a year, that can become very costly over a years time. Marketing would probably love to use that money somewhere else. How does management use the data. As the data gets rolled up to the top, dashboards and reports become skewed by bad or inaccurate data ------- decisions will be made based on this data. And most importantly, our sales team. If they feel data is bad… they lose trust in the data, they get frustrated and our CRM DB is in jeopardy.
  4. So what do we do,how do we tighten things up around our CRM?Let’s start with identifying the touch points in our org? Where is the data getting added to the CRM?Importing of Leads from trade shows, webinars, partners?Daily user inputOngoing editing and maintaining of existing Contacts & Account records by many end users within the company (front office as well as back office). All these manual touch points open the door for data errors. How do you control these touch points without constraining? Develop solid policies for sales and marketing users. Set standards for your Org
  5. Execute your data quality plan: find it, clean it, and keep it clean. This is actually a process that Salesforce.com suggests.1 – Agree on: account names, country names, addresses, postal standards, phone numbers or titles2 – Cleanse – find and replace bad or missing data, implement naming conventions, transform data when merging data bases or doing large imports, and archive off irrelevant and old data3 – Enrich – consider purchasing 3rd party products like StrikeIron’sto add company demographics and other additional valuable data.4 – De-dupe – again leverage 3rd party tools like DemandTools to overcome this thorn.5 – Validate – for any larger cleansing projects you may want to clean you data in the sandbox and test the results before loading it back into production
  6. Once these policies are in place, train all users but Keep it simple. Also when it comes to AppX tools and products, make sure the products you select are easy to use.
  7. So how can StrikeIron help you with your Data Management issues? Our LiveData for Salesforce products are easy to install and easy to use.Keeping your addresses clean and verified is seamless. Enhancing records with additional and valuable data is a click away for the users.Marketing can Verify that email address and/or mailing addresses are accurate so they are not wasting time and money on their campaigns. If you are in the telemarketing arena, staying off the Do Not Call police list can be very advantageous. Simple ways to check those phone numbers against that DB in your CRM would be very beneficial for your telesales team.Adding all this functionality with our products is very simple. There is no updating of databases on the backend. Your IT people will not be managing any backend systems. We take care of that for you.
  8. Here is a quick screenshot of a Contact Record. Our products can verify and validate your addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
  9. Our products can be found on the AppExchange. They are native components built on the Force.com platform and 100% apex code. They work seamlessly with Leads, Contacts and Accounts. If you are an admin, it is easy to add them in the page layout view. No code is needed to add advanced functionality. So let’s jump into a demo before we run out of time.
  10. That ends ourwebinar. If you have any questions about our webinar today, want to install a trial or have already installed it and have questions, please feel free to contact me directly. We have recorded this webinar so you can locate it in the future on our site. We will also post the slides if you want a copy. Thank you for your time today.
