CALABARZON is
one of the regions of
the Philippines.
It is also designated
as Region IV-A and its
regional capital is
Calamba City in
Laguna.
3. The region is composed
of five provinces,
namely:
Cavite
Laguna
Batangas
Rizal
Quezon.
4. The CaLaBaRZon Region is
located in the southwestern
part of the island of Luzon.
Total land area of 16,560
square kilometers.
Second most densely
populated region in the
country, principally because it
is the closest region to metro
Manila.
CaLaBaRZon is experiencing
rapid urbanization. As of the
year 2000, 67% of its
population lives in urban
areas.
5. HISTORY OF CALABARZON
On June 11, Act No. 137 of the First Philippine
Commission abolished Morong and created a new
province, named after the Philippines' national hero,
Jose Rizal, who, coincidentally, was a native of Laguna.
On May 17, 2002, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
signed Executive Order No. 103, which made
reorganized to the Southern Tagalog region.
6. HISTORY OF CALABARZON
Due to its size, Region IV was split into two separate
regions, Region IV-A (Calabarzon) and Region IV-B
(Mimaropa).
Aurora was transferred to Region III, Central Luzon.
The next year, Arroyo signed Executive Order No. 246,
which declared Calamba as the regional center of the
region.

Calabarzon—2nd largest GDP share Calabarzon is
the 2nd largest contributor to the national GDP,
accounting for 16.8%.
Due to the region's proximity to Metro Manila, a
large amount of urbanization has taken place over
the years.
Cavite and Laguna in particular are sites of
manufacturing and high-tech industries .
Santa Rosa, Laguna is home to semi-conductor and
automotive companies.
General Trias is home to Cavite's largest economic
development zone, the PEC Industrial Park.

Kawit is known as the Cradle of the Philippine
Independence. Kawit is the place where General
Emilio Aguinaldo first waved the flag of the Republic

Amadeo is nicknamed the Coffee Capital of the

Ternate is the place where many people still speak
Chavacano or “Broken Spanish“. Chavacano is also
called Philippine Creole Spanish.
In 2006, Dasmarinas was declared the richest city

Laguna has rugged terrain, with narrow plains
near the shores of Laguna de Bay and
