Group 6: Nadia, Cara, Jess, Megan
In this screen shot, we are importing the clips by typing
in “Ctrl + i”. We have selected 3 different clips to import
onto our documentary.
Next, we dragged each of the clips from the project box into the
new item icon.
Next, we searched for some good telephone related songs. We found
quite a few but only decided to use 2 in the documentary. Once we had
found these songs, we converted them from YouTube, using YouTube
Converter and saving the files. We then imported the music.
We then cut the music to fit the video by clicking and
dragging the sides of the audio in the timeline.
We then edited and changed the volume of the music by clicking
on ‘editing’ and selecting areas of the audio to set the pitch. This
added a fade out effect, where the music would slowly become
quieter towards the end. We did this so that it would fit the clip
perfectly.
Next, we cut parts of the clips in the timeline so that
there were no breaks or gaps in between questions. We
did this by using the razor tool.
Next, we added in our title by using the titles option. This
allowed us to chose the font and the colour of the text and
place it over a piece of footage. This allowed us to try and
keep within the 2 minute mark.
We then added in an effect to link the different
pieces of footage together. We did this by using an
effects tool.
We then used editing to add in more text that showed
the names of the interviewees. We did this again by
using the text tool.
We added in some archive footage of an old iPhone advert, which
we found on YouTube. We saved this footage using YouTube
converter. We made sure to place it in a relative place where the
interviewees talk about what they use their phones for.
We used a different part of the same clip and added that to an area where
the interviewees talk about the phones that they have had. We did this to
create a relation between them and the phones that they have owned.
We made sure that the clip was quite small so the interviewees were still
visible.
We then added in a few images that we found on Google. We edited these
images in to the footage as the interviewees talk about these specific things.
For example, where they spoke about using social media, we added in the
logos to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We also added in images of the
types of mobile phones that they talk about. We did this because it was
relevant to the subject of our documentary.
Lastly, we added in the credits by using the text tool. We added in
another piece of music with this to finish off with.
