Record Companies and
       Labels
What is a record label?
• A record label is a brand and trademark associated with the
marketing of music recordings and music videos. Often a
record label is also a company that manages such brands
and trademarks and it coordinates the production,
manufacture, distribution, marketing and promotion for
    sound recordings and music videos.
• Within the music industry most recording artists have
become increasingly reliant upon record labels to broaden
their consumer base market of their albums and be both
promoted and heard on MP3 and radio or TV.
• The internet has increasingly been a new way that some
artists avoid costs and gain some new audiences as well as
the use of videos to sell their products.
Warner Music Group
• Warner Music Group
  (WMG) is a major global
  music and entertainment
  conglomerate headquartered
in New York City. The largest
  American-owned music
  corporation worldwide, it is one
  of the 'big three' recording
  companies (the three largest in
  the global music industry). The
  company operates some of the
  largest and most successful
  recording labels in the world,
  including Warner Bros.
  Records and Atlantic Records.
  WMG also owns
  Warner/Chappell Music, one of
  the world's largest music-
  publishing companies.
Why would we consider this music
           company?
• Due to the fact that it is a global company means that our
music could be distributed all over the world and therefore
enlarge our target audience and therefore the profits. It
also means that our music will be more well known by
people from all around the world.
• The company is based in the United States of America
which fits perfectly to our music because we think that our
artist is American. This can make our music more realistic.
