1. A 2m long cantilever with rectangular section (60mmx90mm)
is subjected to uniformly distributed load 4KN/m throughout
its length. Determine the maximum bending stress and its
deflection.
Take E = 200 Gpa.

2. Moment of Inertia I = (60 X 903)/12mm4
= 364.5X104 mm4
y = 90 / 2 = 45mm
σmax = Mmaxy / I = (8 X 106 X 45) / (364.5X104)
= 98.76 MPa
