Population-based surveys are expensive to
administer.
These surveys do not happen routinely.
Sample sizes do not allow you to estimate at
lower administrative levels.
This methodology produces HIV prevalence estimates
at the lowest level of granularity and allows for
continuous monitoring of the epidemic through the
use of routinely available data.
