2. Article 5 By Aidan Black and Gwynn Zambello The political system of the Arab Republic of Egypt is a multiparty one, within the framework of the basic elements and principles of the Egyptian society as stipulated in the Constitution (Political parties are regulated by law) The way we would change this article is by putting a spending cap on any one party as to limit the amount of power a single party can have. This way the power of one party will not be able to overcome any other party. This idea came from Mr. George Washington’s quote, “ they [ political parties ] serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community” Which means that no one political party should be to powerful.
