2. Editing
We started off the edit by favoriting all the shots we wanted to use by
selecting the favorite tool. We then looked at the 'Legend' teaser which we
were using to compare to our one the see what sort of shots came in what
order. We noticed that the more simple shots came first like establishing
shots of sets and locations, close up shots of lead characters and long
shots of lead characters.
3. Editing
I then began to look at the overall pace of the edit and different features
use to slow it down and speed it up. For example in the legend teaser
trailer for the first part of the teaser a lot of fade to black transitions were
used. We used this is our teaser and thought it worked quite well, and
gave a nice feel to the start of our trailer.
In the second half of the legend teaser trailer the pace begins to speed up
a great deal using much shorter snappier shots.
4. Sound
I used garage band to create my own music.
I used the "keyboard" tool to play music then edit the sounds.
I wanted to use dramatic instruments to create impact such as piano,
violins and drums.
With the piano I wanted to use sustained minor chords to give the piece a
dark eerie feel.
I made the strings play long sustained chords to build up the texture.
The drums I used were quite heavy using the low pitched toms.
5. Sound
Keeping up with the medical theme of our teaser, I decided to use a
heartbeat sound effect keeping the effect in time with the edit of the shots.
I also used a flatline sound effect for the final building up in pace to build
suspense.
"trailer booms" were used when the title of the film appeared so it sticks in
peoples minds.
